Summary: I wanted a large monitor for my 11" macbook air and I had a really hard time justifying $1000 for Apple's 27" monitor, though I really did want it. So I searched for other 27" monitors WITH USB ports built-in and I came across the VX2739WM by Viewsonic. It has everything I wanted plus HDMI!
Pros: -Full 1080p w/ 1ms response time! -HDMi, DVI, VGA and audio ports! -4 USB ports -Displays colors and details as good as my Apple's LED screen. -27" real estate! Can have 2 full-screen windows open at once. -Attractive display
Cons: -Glossy bezel can scratch easily (just small light scratches like you'd see on the back of an iPod) -200x100 VESA mounting option....not a major con, but I just had to buy an adapter to mount it to my 100x100 wall mount
Pros: great graphics for gaming i play cod 5 medal of honor, and also battle field the graphics are great i run them all on 1920 x1080 and it looks great very smooth running of course i have a graphics card that will handle all of this nvidia gtx 285
Cons: good overall monitor for what i do with it mostly gaming
Summary: This monitor is good for gaming. I bought it for halo to cut down on lag, every millisecond counts to me. Otherwise I would have gotten samsung because this one only has hdmi, dvi, vga so if you want to watch t.v. you would need a cable box with hdmi output.
Summary: I use this monitor for photo editing, video editing, gaming, web, and movies. I have no complaints in any of these venues. It's certainly not professionally geared toward photo or video editing, but I wouldn't expect a monitor in this price range to do any better than it does.
Pros: An *excellent* monitor for its price range. All of my friends and family who have seen me edit photos or game on this monitor are instantly jealous. If you're upgrading from a 19-21" monitor and you're not doing professional photo or video editing, you'll very likely be happy with this choice.
Cons: I generally prefer textured surfaces instead of glossy surfaces on monitors. The glossy surface on this monitor shows every stinking fingerprint, and its reflectivity can be distracting.
Summary: I got this monitor 3 months ago after a painful 3 months of failed attempts to get some super slim LG LCD TV and super slim wall mount to work as computer monitor. Even though this is not the slimmest monitor available on the market, I have been very happy with its quality with average 8 hours usage...
Summary: I full time telecommute. I last was using dual 28" I-INC monitors and both finally went out (just guessing the bad capacitor issue they appear to have). Had to replace quickly with 2 of something.
Summary: I am extremely pleased with the ViewSonic 27 inch monitor. Quick and easy to install and set up. No dead pixels. Bright, color is great, resolution is great. I had an ASUS 26 inch (2 ms response time), which I thought was also outstanding, but it failed after 2 years, and had 1 dead pixel.
Summary: I gave it 5 stars because in its price range its worth the money. Gamers will love this because of its 1ms response time. Working in 3ds, and PS, its also nice to have a quick response time for detailed work.
Pros: For the price this an amazing monitor. The 1ms time is like what you would expect... I came from my old ViewSonic CRT monitor, and they preform similar. Non shiny / reflective screen surface.
Cons: Like others are saying, the color, and contrast needs to be adjusted out of the box. The stand is also a little thin, but holds the view screen well never the less. If I were have to designed this peace I would have not included speakers, but put the extra manufacturing costs into its reason for ...
Pros: Having a monitor this large along with the 1ms response really added to the immersion factor with my racing sims. Although it was a little bright at first I'm getting great colors after a month with a slight reduction in brightness & contrast and photos look incredable. I'm running this with Cros...
Cons: Stand's a little dinky but supports if fine on a solid platform.
Summary: I bought this monitor a month and a half ago and was initially disappointed by it's poor performance. However, after I figured out the mistake I made, this product has become a real wonder. What happened is that I had been using the VGA cable to connect this monitor to my computer.
