Summary: In my office I have two ViewSonic VA2431wm LCD monitors that work without problems, so I decided to go bigger and bought this 27 in VX2739wm LCD for my home (If you work at night hours like me, today LED monitors will tan your eyes even with the brightness set to the minimum level!). Inmediatly I tried to connect it through the DVI port and my DELL LapTop did not find the monitor, no way.
Summary: From all the technical specs, and the top few reviews I read, this seemed like a great deal to replace my old console TV. It appears I missed a few specifications. I run my tv with a cable set box, hooking up the tv to my receiver, which is also connected to my DVD/VHS combo, as well as my turntable, CD player, etc. HDMI from the cable box to the receiver, HDMI from the receiver to the monitor, and no standard hookups for my 5 year old DVD/VHS player.
Summary: This really isn't a reflection on the monitor itself, I don't think, but I thought it would be worth writing a review to warn others of the problems with using the combination of this monitor with a late model MB Pro. To put it in the simplest terms possible, it looks like crap. Using either the mini display to VGA or mini display to DVI adapter from Apple, the output is received in 1080p by the monitor, but fonts are fuzzy and there is apparently nothing that can be...
Summary: Updated 6/22/12, originally bought January of 2011. After over a year of owning this TV with heavy HEAVY use, I'm as pleased as when I first received it. The matte screen reduces glare, it's easy to tilt up and down, the picture quality is great! However, despite that, there are still some problems with it. Computer hook up is a bit... iffy at best. That is, my computer won't very easily recognize the second display through an HDMI port, or VGA.
Summary: This monitor has a good sized screen, is relatively easy to set up and is a great price compared to other comparable monitors. I was expecting a little better, crisper quality bit it is fine for what I'm using it for.
Summary: Shopped for several months before coming back to this monitor. The USB hub, the response time and being full HD. I bought this to replace using a 26" Sanyo 720p tv/monitor. Except for the USB hub (which comes in handy if you use wireless keyboard/mouse--closer to receiver) and the auto low power state (which keeps from always having to pick up a remote) I'm really not impressed.
Summary: I bought this monitor for gaming since it boasted a 1ms response time. The new trend in monitors having default resolution at 1920x1080 (HDMI 1080p) rather than 1920x1200 was something of a concern, but I was willing to accept this for the better response and LED back light. The appearance is nice, the monitor stand lifts the screen higher than I'm used to but it does make for a smaller footprint on my desktop than the previous monitor.
Good price - but after two months it needs to be sent back

Summary: I use it for video and sound editing. I use external digital speakers so I can't comment on the sound quality. Excellent price/value ratio. I perceive it to be not as nice of color as my Dell ST2400 it replaced (that went into the ADR booth). Maybe it needs to be adjusted, but the software that came with it never identified itself by model to my Macbook and there was no menu for calibrating. Possible user error, but the instructions were no help. It is sharp though.
Summary: [...]The monitor: sound quality of the speakers very poor...had to add speakers, the technology hasn't caught up to the size of the monitor yet. Images don't fill the screen. The chart for installing the cables was a wee bit confusing. Instructions for installing sound software was wrong. Crispness of display is very good. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase. [...
Summary: I just received and installed this monitor, and I concur with M. Fernandez's assessment - superb picture quality, atrocious sound. It's specifically because of the sound quality that I give this monitor only three stars. Yes, of course you shouldn't buy a monitor for its sound quality, but hey, THEY made the promise that the integrated monitor speakers would deliver "immersive, cinema-quality sound", not me.
