Pros: This monitor is fantastic, one of the better ones that I've owned for this price, ViewSonic has done it again. After owning the monitor since August, I feel as though I would buy a second or third one. Amazing 60Hz and 27", definitely recommended.
Cons: Other than it not being 144Hz, nothing at all. freaking amazing monitor.
Excerpt: Accidentally trashed my monitor just before Christmas and for a awesome price and guaranteed delivery before Christmans B&H delivered on time and The clarity and features of this monitor fit perfectally into mywork needs...just ordered two more for my office.
Summary: I bought this monitor for my wife as a gift to replace her 24 inch Acer. I did extensive research on 27 inch monitors under $300 with an HDMI input and found this VIEWTRONICS monitor would be a good choice. I read over 100 reviews on various monitors from different dealers, amazon, best buy, staples, target and a few review web sites. It compared favorably to Samsung but cost less. Amazon had it for 248, Walmart had it for 215. Incredible price.
Summary: Super solid 4 stars! Stepping up from a 21in monitor, I was considering a 24, but got crazy and said yeah, let's see how 27 would be! So glad sanity was locked away! This 27 is perfect. Dynamic Contrast is not ON by default, so if the initial impression is that the contrast is not as promised, pick up the manual and discover how to set up your equipment. Too many people pick up something out of the box and expect that it will be uniquely configured for their needs.
Summary: Nice screens for working. I would buy a different screen if you plan on gaming. The colors aren't great compared to other monitors, but it's an affordable 27" monitor. I use two of them for work purposes, and occasionally hook one up to my laptop for gaming. I'm certainly not impressed with the colors while gaming, but gets the job done just fine for work.
Summary: Great monitor. Bouth ViewSonic over other brands because for a 27" they have the least amount of 'acceptable' dead pixels. I think it was if the monitor had 3 then you can send it back while all other brands ad 5-9 dead pixels required to send it back. Personally I think 1 is too many if it is anywhere but the edge of the screen. I got lucky, NO dead pixels, and it has beautiful color for under $300.
