An inexpensive screen with trade offs being resolution.
11 January 2013
Summary: when maximum pixel setting is used...the bottom top and sides of the screen are cropped. The only way to get everything on the screen is to lower the pixel setting...making the screen rating technically correct but practically bogus. There does not appear to be a way to size the screen horizontally or vertically.
Summary: This monitor has proven to be better than expected. The price was great and the quality is excellent. Color and clarity are outstanding. It looks nice and the size of the stand is not intrusive on my desk. The sound is a bit tinny, but I did not purchase this monitor to listen to music. I am very satisified with the purchase of this monitor, plus I like the little birdies in the upper left hand corner.
Summary: I bought this recently as a replacement for an HP glossy screen monitor that showed too many distracting reflections after I had to move my destop computer to a new location. This display is the same size as my old one and looks very good to my non-expert eye, although matte screens like this one never seem to have quite the sharpness or vivid colors of a glossy display. The sound lacks bass and is very tinny even with the included software installed.
Summary: Hooked this sucker up to my 13" MBA using the enclosed HDMI cable and it was turnkey. It just works. Beautiful resolution and easy to use. Haven't used the built-in speakers and don't plan to. All that remains to be seen is durability. For the price you can't beat this monitor!
Summary: I have purchased 3 of these monitors and I'm sitting in front of them right this very minute! Let me tell you the things I like about these monitors. 1. They are super thin (I hate fat monitors) 2. They are 1080p which is better than 720p, or 480p, or standard def, or any other resolution which is lower. 3. They are very bright with great contrast. I saw a review that said they were too bright and caused eye strain.
Summary: My TV died (I was using it as a computer monitor and TV) and I was forced to use an old 15" LCD monitor (YUK!). This Viewsonic had to perform double duty. It has an excellent picture (very sharp and crisp) and fits perfectly on my desk. The speakers don't sound very good, but I didn't buy it for it's sound! Some of the programs I use work very well with 2 monitors, so someday I'll definitely buy another one of these.
Summary: This is a very nice monitor for the size and the price and it works great. Why then, am I giving it only 4 of 5 stars? Because, they gave this monitor a beautiful non-glare LED screen and then some MORON put a SHINY piano black bezel around it. WTF were they thinking??? Update, removing another star because headphones jack is on the back of the monitor.
