Summary: Longevity of this product as compared to the fluorescent back-lights found in older LCD monitors is an unknown at this time—LED back-lighting hasn't been around long enough for anyone to draw any conclusions on reliability during continuous use. In theory, LED back-lighting should outlast fluorescent back-lighting by at least 5:1.
Pros: Sharp display, even at maximum resolution (1920 x 1080). Color accuracy is very good. The larger display area is welcome, especially during CAD sessions. It's almost like having a TV set on your desk.
Cons: Touch controls are too touchy. During setup I get messed up because my relatively thick fingers affect the touch point adjacent to the one I am trying to use. I'd rather have mechanical push buttons that give some tactile feedback and don't respond until actually pushed. The stand is wobbly, which lends a chintzy aura to the product. Surely Viewsonic could have engineered a more rigid stand. I'd rather not have the big, blue power indicator in my face all the time. A ...
Summary: Don't expect much from the built-in speakers. About they are good for is making beeps and tweets. If you want to listen to music you should invest in a quality sound system to with your rig. I don't judge video monitors on their audio, as I don't normally use it.
Pros: This monitor has a crisp and bright display that won't bring on eye fatigue after hours of use. The touch controls take some initial acclimation but are a welcome change from hard-to-press push buttons. We do quite a bit of engineering and design work in CAD, so the larger screen area is a plus.
Cons: The stand is wobbly and detracts from an otherwise-fine product. I deducted an Egg for this reason.
Summary: I would give this monitor a solid 5/5 if the speakers sounded decent, which they do not. That is a non issue for me, as I would never rely on the monitor speakers for my sound anyhow, but the rest of the monitor is perfect in my opinion! It looks nice, the picture is perfect and with a vesa mount you can put it anywhere you like! I will be buying another one in the near future if that tells you how much I like it!
Summary: Except for the slight loss of brightness, and the funcky adjustment buttons, this is a nice upgrade from the previous model Viewsonic 24" LED monitor. Also slightly smaller external dimensions than the previous model.
Pros: Love the bright whites of an LED monitor. Nice on-off button. Adjustment buttons on the bottom, instead of the side, make this monitor easy to use next to other monitors. Easy to remove monitor stand. Only 0.75" bezel on top and sides. Comes with all the cables you might need, except for an HDMI adapter or HDMI cable.
Cons: Wobbly stand that has no height adjustment. I mounted on a triple head stand, so that does not bother me. The adjustment buttons are not real buttons and a bit finicky. Not as bright as the previous model Viewsonic 24" monitor. That will be fine if the LEDs do not fade. My biggest complaint is that the placement of the vesa mounting holes relative to the viewable part of the display is different than with other Viewsonic 24" monitors. Makes it very hard to align to ot...
Summary: overall, i would say these are really pretty good monitors. I have them on almost every desk in my office and have had zero issues with them.
Pros: Bright, cheap, large. These monitors are really pretty great overall. To the bad reviews, I don't know what to say. I have purchased over 20 of these in the last 4 months and have them on every single design computer in the office (dual monitors) and every single person loves them. I haven't had a single one go bad.
Summary: I ordered the refurbished model. It arrived damaged; the case was separated and you could see inside the monitor. Not sure how it got this way, but I was able to snap it back into place, except for one area where there is now a bulge. The monitor works great, and the store was willing to take back the monitor and even sent me an RMA, where they’d pay for return shipping.
Summary: Was this monitor send out and returned, then shipped to me at $179.99? thinking I was getting a brand new one?? Because of the scuffing on top and no sealed tape, one would wonder...
Pros: Aside from a dead spot on the bottom edge, the monitor is great.I mean that! I totally depend on Viewsonic, this being my second and first -LED. The colors are more vivid, the blacks and whites are sharp and clear, if that makes sense. The best monitor I've own as a Gamer. Makes racing sims and FPS feel like your there.
Cons: The shipping practice at newegg for monitors needs to change .First, no outter box, just the viewsoinc box to protect the delicate compondents inside?? Chancey. Second, The box did not have any seal-tape on it as the top was damaged slightly enough, that when I saw it- "***!" You can do better than this newegg!
