Not the best

Danielle D., Newegg
30 December 2011
  • Summary: This isn't the WORST monitor in the world, but I've owned 4-5 LCD's in my lifetime and it is by far the worst I've owned. I am sure someone not as picky as me would love it.
  • Pros: This monitor is bright, and the colors aren't too bad, it has a sleek design, if I had never seen an LCD/LED monitor in my life, this monitor would be pretty amazing
  • Cons: Comparing this monitor to the 2-3 year old ones I already have, the colors don't compare, even the brightness. I got this monitor because I heard it was BRIGHT, and it is just mediocre. Ghosting is present, brightness lacks a bit. This is the second ViewSonic I've gotten not very happy about.

2 Monitors: 1 Defective, 1 Glorious

Adam O., Newegg
1 December 2011
  • Pros: The one that wasn't defective has great picture quality, the few angel is great and there is virtually none of the blackening effect.
  • Cons: The defective one was absolutely awful. There was a horizontal line of dead pixels across the whole screen. I did research and it is most likely do to a bad soldering job my the manufacturer.

Severe Backlight Bleeding

James, Amazon
26 September 2011
  • Summary: The monitor has SEVERE backlight bleeding. On a black screen, the top and bottom edges are lit up to a bright blue color. Also, the bottom third of the screen is MUCH brighter than the rest of the screen.

Nice look and thin, but under par graphic quality

Mike, Amazon
25 September 2011
  • Summary: Maybe I am the unlucky one. I simply could not echo the five/four star comments. The monitor is of good price, very thin and nice looking, but that is all. I also have a 5 year old Dell LCD monitor. The Viewsonic and the Dell were put right next to each other.

Viewing angle very narrow, causes major color shift

M. Epperson, Amazon
25 September 2011
  • Summary: Beware of massive color shifting with even slight viewing angle changes. This is especially important for 2 monitor setups where each monitor is necessarily going to have a slightly different angle. Calibrating both monitors against each other is impossible.

Looks good, but arrived broken

Ian G., Newegg
22 April 2011
  • Summary: This is a nice monitor at a good price, but one of the buttons doesn't work. I'm unable to increase contrast, brightness, volume, etc, beyond the "factory presets". The down button works fine, but if I want to turn up the brightness, I have to reset the monitor settings.
  • Pros: Crisp graphics Clean appearance Light weight Attractive price No dead pixels
  • Cons: Arrived with a broken button. The "up" button is non-functioning. No HDMI, but I knew that when buying the monitor.

Low Refresh Rate at Max Resolution

Vorticity, Amazon
2 January 2011
  • Summary: Two things wrong with this monitor: 1) No HDMI connection, although it does have DVI, so you can get a converter and connect HDMI to the DVI port. This is stated clearly, so I knew it going in. 2) 60 Hertz refresh rate at its max resolution of 1920 by 1080.
