Excerpt: I intended to use these monitors in a dual display setup on a dual VESA monitor arm. One for confidence audio and Video, the other for desktop. Instead they're tabletop. The invisible edge (bezel) would make these monitors a good candidate for multi-display setups and video walls, but not without a vesa mount. The design is more form than function.
Pros: Great picture quality, Large Viewing Area, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
Pros: IPS, good pixel density, low cost, very thin bezel, looks good
Cons: After about 2 months the OSD randomly comes up on the screen and the buttons are not responsive or work to close and then they reopen. This makes this monitor unusable. 30 day Newegg Warranty expired so now I need to contact the manufacturer
Summary: I wanted HDMI input, speakers and IPS in a small 1080 (HD) display. This one has all that and the frame less design makes it appear even smaller. Display is also very sharp, I'm sold on IPS technology, and would not buy an LCD that was not IPS. Note that larger monitors with 1080 resolution just have larger pixels, so you can sit farther away (good for TV's but not computers), but give you no more dots on the screen to display more info.
Summary: It worked fine for about a year (although the speakers weren't the greatest). The return policy is for 30 days so it can't be returned. All of a sudden one day it started to go fuzzy like an old TV. If we tapped the side of it, the picture went clear for a little while and then it went fuzzy again. We know it's not the software or our computer because when we plugged in our old monitor, it worked just fine. I emailed the View Sonic support team, but they never responded.
Summary: This monitor has a lot of good features like HDMI, tiny speakers, and other helpful connections. However, I am downgrading it to 3 stars for a couple of reasons. First is the AC adapter which is a bit of pain. You have to position the adapter box so it will not slide or fall off the desk. You could put it on the floor, but then it gets kicked around. I just don't like these things.
Summary: I purchased this monitor to use as a second screen for my Macbook Air. I had not problems for the first 6 months, the images were clear and it was very easy to use. Plug and Play. It recently stopped working out of the blue. I have tried several cables but nothing seems to do the trick. When I plug the screen in it shows the viewsonic logo but then goes black. It will come back randomly but only for a few seconds.
Didn't work for me, 2 monitors and similar problem
2 April 2014
Summary: I guess i wasn't lucky, got the first one, about 25 days later, a green vertical line appeared in the center of the screen, had to return for a replacement , second arrived and now has a green vertical line on the left side of the screen, sending this back.
Summary: Once the controls are set the first time, I don't need them. Monitor goes into standby mode when I power off the computer, so I don't even need to reach the power switch. It will power itself on again when needed.
Pros: Picture quality is better than any I've seen. Blacks are truly black. I don't know why Michael G. says otherwise unless he got one that was dropped before he received it. It truly has 100% sRGB color, which means it matches the source. I've never seen better image quality for what the image is INTENDED to be. I have seen monitors that try to intensify the color to make it look better, but it makes it something other than what it should be when they do that.
Cons: It makes my old monitor look bad. I will probably have to buy a second one to pair with it instead of using my old monitor to pair with it.
