Buy it for the monitor, mute the sound, blow off the webcam

Summary: I bought this at Costco for the same price. Comparing a number of monitors, this had the best picture quality. The picture resolution and colors are excellant. So I thought great and I also have the mic and webcam. At first i couldn't get the mic to work at all. Checked all the windows controls I could find, my other mic worked and called tech support twice who advise me to return unit at Costco. Loaded the webcam software played with the webcam told it to captur audio.
Summary: My family has purchased four ViewSonic monitors, and have been impressed with the quality. However, I am disappointed with this purchase. I will probably return it. 1) The webcam works, but the microphone is not compatible with my Macintosh computer. I am very annoyed that this is not disclosed on the ViewSonic USA web site, but it _is_ disclosed on the ViewSonic UK/Europe site (found this out after I took delivery and was setting it up).
Summary: For under $350, you get a 22" LCD with bright, crisp resolution. Huge difference over my old 19" viewsonic CRT. Haven't used the webcam yet, but it's a nice bonus to have. I have seen reviews on CNET that rate this monitor lower due to not having all the bells and whistles for various connections, but I personally don't have any need for that. The base is a bit flimsy and it is not easy to make small adjustments, but that is a minor complaint.
Summary: good image , bad speakers , average webcam , it is too small the size of the screen. it is tall as 19 inches and of course wider than the 19'' but i would nt recomend to buy this monitor if u r looking for a big screen
Summary: When I first bought this monitor I was pleased at first. After awhile I began to realize how much darker the screen is in the top 1/3 of the screen as compared to the bottom. The screen gets progressively darker as you go from the bottom to the top of the screen and can be quite noticable on webpages and games, especially if they use colors such as dark blue or yellow. I tend to be a picky person about monitors so maybe this wouldn't be noticeable to most people.
Forget the panel fiasco of the Samsung 226BW; get this.

Summary: Needed a cheap HD solution for my PS3 as well as a computer monitor. This monitor supports HDCP via DVI-HDMI cable on the DVI port. Stock colors are as accurate as you can get on a 22" TN panel, on par with an S panel Samsung 266BW. Lots of space, native resolution is 1680x1050. Attractive glossy bezel, but might bother some. It can turn, rise/lower, and tilt; it's very flexible.
Summary: Love the picture quality, but the speakers are so incredibly awful I am thinking of returning it! The sound quality is annoying, and forget listening to iTunes! So, now the dilemma, keep the monitor and buy external speakers or return it.
Summary: This is the second 22 inch ViewSonic monitor I purchased. This latest version included a built-in camera. The newest version has an improved look (all black including the stand)as well as better control buttons including the on and off switch. The screen is bright and clear and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend it.
Summary: Echo most of the comments on the board - video is quite nice the web cam is good though not great. The speakers are a joke - I got the integrated one to avoid having more items on my desktop - and while I am fine with the webcam I still have to get external speakers to watch a trailer online - worse enough try to play itunes. So if you are looking to replace items on your desktop forget it - the speakers are laughable.
