Excellent Image, but may cause initial confusion for Mac Users

Summary: I received this monitor yesterday, and was confused at first about the setup to use it as my primary display for my MacBook Pro. I wanted to post this tutorial because it didn't seem as if there were that many in-depth reviews of this monitor for Mac users. I hope this is helpful to you. Just click the "yes" button above the review!
Summary: Review aimed at Apple Mac users (not sure what would also apply to PC type users): This monitor pairs great with my latest Apple Mac (ONCE you buy the additional "Thunderbolt to DVI" Adapter female Cable (otherwise your Mac will never talk to the ViewSonic), which on Amazon translates to http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00425MQGA/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 "J-Tech Digital High Quality Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter female Cable") . . .
Summary: The montior arrived on time and was well packaged. The monitor is easy to set up and use and works well, provides great color and excellent contrast! My only complaint is that out of the box 1 pixel was bad and since I like a black background on the screen it shows up in RED and is VERY noticable and annoying! I almost sent the monitor back because of the defect.
Summary: Once I learned that ViewSonic was another name for Sony my confidence level went up. I bought, from Amazon the LED back lit version for lower power consumption. It was promptly delivered and simple to install. The only physical snag was that my PC used an HDMI connector that was of smaller dimensions to the supplied HDMI cable. Initially I had to use the VGA connector, which was also supplied and separately purchase a cable from Amazon to connect up the HDMI.
Summary: Great monitor, seller shipped it promptly and on time. My complaint is that it arrived with a bad power cable, hence the four star rating. The unit initially wouldn't power on, and after testing everything else I pulled a power cable off my old monitor and the Viewsonic then powered up normally. You would expect that all parts would be tested before being shipped/sold to customers.
Summary: This is a great monitor for the price. It has an amazing display that hasn't gotten less brilliant. The only two issues I've had with it is the fact that my desk is kind of crappy so the monitor does a fairly significant amount of wobbling and the other issue is the menu. For some reason a few days ago the menu began popping up and wouldn't go away.
Summary: The ViewSonic 22" monitor came quickly and gives a wonderfully vivid image. Installation was a snap on my Windows 7 PC. I found that customizing the screen was a little tedious, but since I'm not an expert, perhaps that is understandable. When I first installted the monitor I used the RGB mode and the picture was clear and crisp at the maximum resolution. When I installed a video card with a DVI slot, the automatic settings were off and I had to make some adjustments.
Summary: The monitor itself is very nice, extremely bright (we had to lower the brightness considerably). The speakers are like listening to an old mono transistor radio. Worse than laptop speakers. The menu is a nightmare to work through. But once set up, it's a great, clear monitor.
Summary: Definitely a good purchase, but be aware that there is no height adjustment and the monitor rides very low. I knew there wasn't an adjustment for heighth, but it was still surprisingly low. The picture is great with no ghosting. A bit brighter than my existing monitor, but perhaps the older one has dimmed in four years. I do wish I had gone for the 24 inch model now that I have the 22, but that is no fault of the monitor.
