Works everywhere with caveats; but a great deal nonetheless

Summary: This is a nice monitor. I've had it now for a year and speakers suck. I've thought of getting the S Sony SS-B1000 5 1/8-Inch Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) but the jury ist still out on that one. I got this monitor originally for Vista. Works fine. Tried it on XP, no problems. Used it on Linux and yes XFree86 worked wonders and it ran there too. Then I decided to upgrade to Windows 7, got suggested to take the Viewsonic drivers..and it stopped working.
Summary: I bought this monitor for my 79 year old mother (for mother's day). She needed a larger screen area because she was doing so much at once. She also wanted the smaller footprint of the lcd, since her computer area is not terribly deep. The display is fantastic, the speakers have a good sound, and it was easy to set up. The only drawback, though, is that the buttons are annoying. The markings are "1" "<" ">" "2" on the side.
Summary: I have now had this monitor for a week. It replaced an older View Sonic that failed after about 6 years. So far I am pleased with it. For just average computer use & viewing instant Netflix I have seen no problems. It did take me a couple of days to get use to the brightness. I have not seen any of the problems some of the other folks have posted. For now I am completely satisfied.
Summary: I've had this monitor for a few months now. The image is sharp and clear. I sit next to a window that gets afternoon sun and have had no problem with glare. I don't watch videos with it, just once to test, so I can't say how good the refresh is for that. The only down side for this monitor is the built in speakers are not very good. My Toshiba laptop has much better sound from the built in speakers than this monitor.
Summary: We wanted second monitor for one of the laptops in our office. This one was inexpensive and our experience with the company has been favorable, so we ordered it. It works fine. Not as clear and sharp as one of our more expensive monitors, but we didn't expect that. For general office work and Web browsing, it does the job well. The documentation, however is a joke. There was none!
Excellent Monitor for the price Offered. Great Value.

Summary: Chose this Monitor over many others in the same ctegory and price range because of great expirience with Viewsonic Monitors and the quality it brings in for the price, making it the best value for the money spent.
Summary: I bought this monitor for $169 new on Amazon. It works flawlessly for what I need it for, which is the monitoring of my CCTV system. I did not know the monitor included speakers built in, which is fantastic for me. I was going to have to go out and buy speakers for it. While they are not great, not for watching movies, they work perfect for my CCTV system.
Summary: I can't speak much for the speakers since I have a pair already that sound good, but the video quality is really good on this monitor. I'm looking forward to getting a matching monitor soon. I agree with other reviewers in that the buttons should have been front, top, or bottom-mounted, but since switching inputs only requires a single press of the #2 button, I'm a little more forgiving.
Summary: Ordered to of these monitors for side by side use at work. Monitor looks great and the image displayed is also great. Pros: - Eco Mode Option - Energy Star compliant - 1080P Full HD. - Price - HDMI input Cons: - Functionality leaves something to be desired. As stated before the speakers are miserable. Even with the supposed SRS Wow installed they achieve less then my iPhone can muster and sound tinny as heck.
