This is a used unit and ViewSonic did have some issues
20 May 2010
Summary: Support could be a lot better. The web site is very hard to find anything in. Best to just search the net and hope for a hit at there Site. You may not find to there.Still working on a driver for the unit. Have tried Viewsonic's site now going to just go to the paid for Driver Site I normally use. With the price I paid I did not expect great. Just average and thats what I got.
Summary: This was my first LCD monitor, and after a lot of research, it seemed a great deal for the price. Tonight, while burning a DVD and surfing the web, the monitor went off. I figured it was my system crashing/rebooting, but nothing came up. When I went to turn the vx2025wm back on, I noticed it was smoking. I quickly unplugged it and it's now a useless piece of trash. I'm just glad I kept my old CRT monitor in storage. Do I think this is a fluke? Perhaps.
Summary: I got this monitor so I can use my laptop comfortably in my office. It works fine, the size is great. The problem I have with this is that if you look at solid colors (green or white), it looks like someone sprinkled glitter on it. This not, as far as I know, the screen-door effect. I looked around and it seems the anti-reflective coating is responsible. I'll work with it, but now I know better than buying monitors with this coating.
Summary: Out of the box, the VX2025WM looks the part. It's sleek, has smart accents like the open-rectangle base and cable-managment support beam, and looks quite geekily luxurious on a clean desk. Running World of Warcraft, this monitor's color reproduction is absolutely breathtaking--sunsets in Mulgore glow a vibrant orange, and Feralas' underbrush teems with mottled green.
Summary: Just got this monitor after reading all the glowing Amazon.com reviews. It is a very attractive monitor, easy to install as long as your video card can handle 1680 x 1050. If not, you may want to add about $160 for that upgraded graphics card. This monitor has a brightness setting button but it is REALLY bright even with the adjustment turned down. It doesn't hurt the eyes. But, it's still a bit annoying.
Summary: THIS MONITORS PROS ARE; EXCELENT IMAGE COMPARED TO MY HYUNDAI L70N : WHICH IS GARBAGE COMPARED TO THIS, MY EYES DON'T HURT AFTER LOOKING AT THE SCREEN FOR 5 HOURS, I'M SO HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT THAT I ACTUALLY CARE TO WRITE A REVIEW CONS WELL THE SCREEN RESOLUTION SETTING DOESN'T WORK WELL WHEN SET TO SMALL & THE MONITOR GETS HOT IN SOME SPOTS THE BUILT IN SPEAKERS ARE DESCENT, THE VOLUME CAN'T GO SUPER LOUD LIKE MY $5 SPEAKERS BASICALLY THE MAIN THING AN LCD SHOULD BE...
Summary: i'm rather torn by this monitor. it is good, but not great. i can care less about USB ports, speakers, and card readers and such. fluff. what i want is a monitor, not a swiss army knife. my other monitor is a 21" trinitron CRT using BNC a cable. it's been showing it's age lately, and this viewsonic is its replacement. i guess it's not fair that i'm going from a terrific CRT to a lower priced LCD, but hey that's life.
