Summary: Excellent LCD monitor. It has a solid base and is easily adjustable to any height. High contrast ratio at 1300:1. That means that it displays more vibrant colors than those at lower (say 700:1) ratios. I would definately recommend this model to anyone.
Summary: The VP930b is great when it works, but 3 out of the 4 monitors I had did not work. Worst of all is their customer service. The first monitor I returned had a bad DVI port. Weeks after I sent it in, they returned the same monitor and nothing had been repaired. They tried to replace it with an upgrade to a 20" monitor without asking my approval. After explaining to them that I have a dual monitor setup they finally agreed that I could return the 20" monitor for a 19".
Summary: I had 2 of these hooked up to my professional workstation to do graphics with and 3 months ago one refused to power up after a restart. I sent it in through the RMA process and have now been waiting for a warranty replacement for 61 days. I can't get through to support on the phone and I've been emailing them for weeks to check the RMA status with no answer. Today the remaining one won't power up after moving it to a different desk.
Top-Notch 19-Inch LCD Monitor with Exceptional Stand
8 January 2008
Summary: I admit to having a preference for ViewSonic monitors because I owned a ViewSonic CRT monitor for several years (now replaced by this one). On the other hand, I don't suffer from rabid brand loyalty. I checked out magazine ratings of this monitor and found that it was rated the best 19-inch monitor in several places. The VP930b monitor has been around for a while now, and I purchased a refurbished one.
Summary: I was quite pleased with this monitor until the day it wouldn't turn on. Luckily I still had my old CRT which I'm now using. The Viewsonic lasted 14 months before dying. I mailed the unit, per direction of Viewsonic, to Walnut, CA. They've had the unit at their facility for 3 weeks (15 working days). Today I contacted Viewsonic (online chat room) to determine the repair status.
Summary: I had originally bought a ViewSonic CRT Monitor several years ago. I had purchased it from a store and choose it based upon the sharpest and clearest picture of all the monitors there. I personally do not care for TV and have not one in my house, but I do like watching movies and do so using the DVD player and monitor on my computer.
Summary: This was my first purchase of a lcd flat screen monitor. I bought it to replace an old crt 17in ViewSonic. The 930b is amazing. It is plug and play, XP Pro recognized it immediately. I have an onboard video card, so I have to use the analog plug, but the picture quality is still excellent. Because I have a cheap factory video card, the tilt rotation from landscape to portrait does not work.
Summary: I found this monitor through a review in a computer magazine. I was a bit skeptical because I had never heard of the maker. Well, I love it. The setup times was under 5 minutes. I plugged it in and it worked. No muss, no fuss. The screen is very easy to read and is just the right size. I highly recommend it.
Summary: Looking deceivingly like just another business LCD monitor, the Viewsonic VP930b actually has one small but significant difference from many monitors circulating in retail channel. The difference here is the factory assembled base stand and this immediately explains why the VP930b came in a packaging that is three times the size of those used for regular LCD monitors that typically have base stands packed in separately from the panel unit.
