Excerpt: I already owned a 23" Viewsonic screen and love it, so when I needed a new one I was going to get another one of the same. Then I saw the 27" one and the price was good so I got this one instead. I love the screen and it has the same quality that I expected. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that its maximum resolution is 1920x1080, which is the same as the 23" one.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: I had to get a new monitor because my cat was chasing a moth and smacked one of the old ones down hard (my fault that I hadn't tied it) and I was also looking to upgrade. This monitor has very high definition and excellent color. The tripod base is super stable. It worked right out of the box. The packing material was overkill, such thick Styrofoam that it was about 4 times the size it could have been. Arrived safely, of course. I'm quite pleased with the monitor.
Summary: It is OK, but not much better than any other cheaper 27 inch monitors I have seen. The resolution isn't as good as an Apple display, and is not so flexible. I suppose the colors are supposed to be more correct or something, though I guess I didn't realize that the colore differences aren't so important to me. Looks good, I like being able to adjust up an down and turn the monitor to portrait. But too expensive.
Summary: What better way to break in a new apple MAC-mini than a new monitor. I was looking to move up to a 27 inch from a 18 inch and searched all the reviews and comments and was close to getting the Dell but felt there were too many negatives. The Viewsonic people were great in answering my questions and after plugging in to my Apple (basically automatic) it was WOW! The color, picture and feature management are easy. Easy on the eyes and no glare in bright light.
Summary: I've only had it for a few weeks, but so far I'm very impressed. I do graphic/web design for a living, and photography as a hobby. Out of the box, this monitor has great color, contrast and sharpness. The only settings adjustments I've made to date was to turn the brightness down to 60%. Down the road I'll calibrate it some more. I paid $382 for it, from Amazon. I was able to get this great price because I set up an alert on camelcamelcamel.com.
Summary: After reading tons of reviews, especially the negative ones, I began to wonder if there was a monitor out there for me. I finally decided to give this one a try and am completely satisfied with it. I use it as my only desk monitor and often for many hours per day.
Excerpt: I have compared this monitor side-by-side with a half dozen other 27" monitors, and it beats them all, including lesser models by VS. It the has the whitest whites, and the most consistent and widest viewing angles. If you want the best, this is it. Only drawbacks: Large base takes up lots of space, but is sturdy. Base cannot be removed so it packs and ships in a much larger box than other 27s.
