Summary: My new Viewsonic VG2439M-LED 24" monitor arrived in good shape and was a snap to set-up and install. I had the occasion to contact Viewsonic's technical support twice to address a minor issue concerning blurry text when connected via the DVI cable. Text was sharp and clear when connected via the VGA cable. The first tech support individual came across as borderline rude or almost curt I might say.
Summary: The entire screen turned bright green and stayed that way, despite trying it on different computers, with different cables, etc. It has been returned to the manufacturer for repair, but that takes approximately 2 weeks. Good on them for repairing it, I guess, but I would have expected it to last longer than it has.
Summary: Great monitor, but uneven from top to bottom slightly. I do lots of critical color corrections and you have to have your head slightly above just the top of monitor for even viewing. Overall a great deal for the price. Also, you can't get the minimum desired 72 Hz refresh rate at full resolution.
Summary: Viewsonic is the 'gold standard' for monitors. I have used them for 20 years with never a problem. I can't prove it, but I suspect that other monitor manufacturers measure their products by Viewsonic.
Summary: I'd give this 3.5 stars if I could. It isn't as bright or sharp as I'd hoped. Colors are a bit muted too, though you can play with settings and tweak them a bit. The speakers a really poor, though that should be expected. The stand is great,it can be adjusted up or down and the monitor pivots. The amount of inputs is really nice too. Overall I do like the monitor, and if asked would recommend it.
