Summary: I've only been using this monitor for a few days, but I've been very happy with it. The colors are great, and being able to adjust it is awesome. The speakers aren't great, but I wasn't expecting them to be (built-ins never are). I would definitely recommend this monitor.
Summary: The color is awesome, the stand is very easy to work, it holds its position well. Viewsonic is my favorite Monitor company and they came through again. If I could have I would taken off a half star for the poor tinny sound quality, but I have yet to find a monitor that gives good sound so I was expecting it. I have speakers so not a big deal to me, but still worth noting.

Summary: I needed to replace my old Gateway pivot monitor on short notice. There were no options available in the retail stores in my area. The ViewSonic looked like it would fit the bill, so I ordered it. Installation went fine. I was relieved to find no tempermental issues with the software control for the monitor. Two disappointments. First, the monitor does not change aspect ratio (landscape/portrait) dynamically by rotating the physical monitor screen.
Summary: I just received this monitor, used it for about an hour and am returning it. There is an awful crosshatch pattern on the screen which is plainly visible whenever anything on the screen is moving or if you move your head. This is not a graphical problem, it is the pattern that the screen material is in. What ends up happening is your eye catches the crosshatch pattern at a different focal point than the display and your eyes shift back and forth between them constantly.
Summary: Stay clear of ViewSonic monitors. I have owned three and all three have had the DVI side fail eventually after use. The VDI side would work, but VGI is painful on the eyes at this resolution. This was my second ViewSonic monitor, they got me twice. The first one was replaced under warranty and the second failed the same way. This one failed just outside the warranted period. Go with a manufacturer that cares about quality.
Summary: I bought this monitor because Consumer Reports rated it highly and because it has built-in speakers. I didn't want more clutter on my desk. Besides, I had had an old Dell monitor with built-in speakers and the sound was quite good. Well, even to someone who is definitely NOT an audiophile, the speakers on the View Sonic are absolutely terrible--the sound is muddy and tinny.
Summary: I almost sent this monitor back when it abruptly stopped working. (It did come back on the next day.) The switch seems to be the weakest part. Now I don't touch the switch at all, but have changed the settings on my computer so that the monitor goes off after 5 minutes of non-use. It is also very bright, and even turned down to the "conservation" setting gives me eyestrain after a while. The screen is also too sensitive to being touched.
