Summary: I bought two ViewSonic VG2230WM monitors to replace aging 22" tube monitors. One on my PC and one for my wife. They work great. Color is sharp and clear and video games work well. I have not used the built in speakers, since I have better speakers already, so I can't comment on those. But as far as the picture goes, I am quite pleased.
Summary: The geeks around the Seattle High TECH industry highly recommended this model. I got one, and about 1 year later it went dead on me. NO insurance, but I was so impressed with the color .... I bought another one. I can't say I've seen another one better for the price.

Summary: I likeed this monitor so much I purchased a second. Now I'm considering a third. These monitors have good picture quality and reliable. If I had the choice between using these two monitors on a older laptop or purchasing a top-of-the-line laptop with only one monitor I would take these two monitors with my existing computer older laptop, no contest.
Summary: Have had this for several months now. It's working out great and we really love it. When I first got it though, I saw one dead pixel right in the middle of the monitor. However, it somehow disappeared from the screen after several days of use and hasn't come back ever since. Not sure how it got self-healed but I'm glad it's gone.
Summary: After getting another brand monitor with my new computer, and not being able to set the color properly, I sold the 6 week old monitor and bought the VG2230WM. This decision was based on my expeience with a 2 yr old Viewsonic monitor. And when I plugged it in, the color was what it was supposed to be with minimal adjustment. I do a lot of photo editng, 20,000 a year, and the color must be right on my monitor.
