Summary: I bought this monitor fom eBay and yes it is used and yes it is a few years old though those idiots saying it doesn't work after a while the screen goes out whatever they must of dropped it and blamed the product for themselves. Don't you listen to them this is one great monitor. I noticed going from a CRT 21" to this one the picture is so much better and crisper and I have never seen color come out so well on a computer screen as this in my home, thank you!
Summary: I prefer dual 4:3 monitors over one 16:9 (or even 2 16:9s). The reason being is that you have to go fairly large with a widescreen to recover vertical real estate. I can get 1024 vertical resolution on a 19" 4:3 monitor when nearly 25" would be required to get the same vertical resolution from a a 16:9 setup. Not to mention that the Viewsonic provides near pro quality color reproduction for a fraction of the cost.
Impressive with great quality, but one dead pixel!

Summary: Received the monitor from Tigerdirect in about 5 days after ordering with standard shipping. I was surprised it was not sealed in the Viewsonic box, and could be opened easily, with only a UPS shipping label attached. It seemed to be all right with everything inside and in perfect condition.

Summary: I was looking for a second monitor when I upgraded my Mac so I could let my husband use it. I had borrowed this monitor from a friend while we were in the process of finding cables for my old monitor and was really impressed with the quality so I bought one for my husband. No problems with installation or use. Great quality at a great price.
Summary: I purchased this monitor about two weeks ago and have been extremely impressed. No dead pixels, very bright screen (yet highly adjustable), and 8 ms (not 20 ms) response time is fast enough even to play games, though I bought the unit mostly to decrease eye strain when reading web content. Speaking of which ... I only use this display with ClearType. Anybody using an LCD should seriously consider ClearType, as it seems to improve readability of text.
Great monitor: big screen, sharp pictures and clear text!

Summary: This review was written based on the following configuration: - HP desktop with an Intel Pentium D930 with Win XP Pro and 1GB memory - Using the DVI cable (supplied by Viewsonic) from an EVGA FX5500 AGP 256MB video card. - Running at the best resolution prescribed by the monitor (1280 x 1024). - No monitor or text-enhancing software has been applied. In my opinion, all LCDs should be run using the DVI cable and a good quality video card (about $50 and up.
Summary: I recieved this monitor today. Hook up was real easy. All cables included, even the DVI cable. I have a Dell 19" at work and couldn't stand my 17" ViewSonic CRT anymore at home. Decided to spend the money. Picture quality is great, better than the 19" Dell (about 6 months old). Don't know why, could be the response time of 8ms. Had to run a manual install because I was running XP, but the instructions were clear and it went without a hitch.

Summary: Renders great images, sharp text, pics. A great monitor and a great price at the time purchased. Unless you are bent on a widescreen, this is a great option and with everything moving more toward widescreen formats, probably a great time to pick up on this one. I have been using mine for over 1 year without so much as a single pixel problem.
