Try them out under normal lighting conditions. Too old equals too dim.

Summary: I don't recommend buying a used monitor unless you can see it in operation under normal lighting conditions. I bought one from a local seller who turned it on in a dimly lit basement. When got it home in a brighter environment, I was disappointed and evision was very unfriendly and wouldn't let me return it.
Summary: I bought this when I first started building computers back in 2004. I picked it up at a local PC store, and because of a mislabeling I got it for $50 cheaper. I have no owned for 8 years and it still works perfectly like the day I purchased it!! Still nice and bright with NO dead pixels, they can not make 'em like they used to! Only downside is that it is TINY compared to my 27inch ASUS I just bought!
Summary: These are great multi use moniotors ...easy to set up and good info from Viewsonics Website. The color and refresh rates are good for many uses and the built in stand is easy to adjust for a good viewing angle.
Summary: View sonic has a website for drivers, but the VA 721 is not listed. Can't find any driver. Yes, a disette of drivers came with the monitor, but operating systems created since the driver diskette are not addressed. For example Vista and Win 7. There seems to be no help to find the drivers at all. Can't tell what's going on. Still selling teh VA721, but with no drivers? or what?
Summary: This purchase was on time and at the right price. The monitor is just like new with fantastic graphics. I tested it on several of my computers and it worked perfect on all of them. The idea was to put back together an old computer and this would be the monitor for it. When the board failed to boot I purchased a refurbised 3.0 ghz for $99 and it has now become my main computer and my 3.2 ghz is pushing the new monitor.
Summary: I decided to buy this monitor because I still had a old giant dinosaur monitor that took up half of my computer desk. At my old job they had Viewsonic Monitors and I looked for one on here cause I have already worked with them. Good color, easy controls, very thin and at a decent price. Overall I am satisfied with the monitor.
Summary: I bought this monitor two years old and slightly used and it exceeds my standards. I have a 22" widescreen LCD that I use for myself, and the picture quality on this Viewsonic looks just as good, though obviously the picture isn't as big. The stand is a bit stiff so the base needs to be held down when adjusting, but it's very sturdy. Brightness and contrast levels are decent -- not too bright, not too dim.
Summary: I started off with one of these in 2005. I upgraded my computer in '08 and got another to run dual monitors. Both sync perfectly and I love the extended desktop. These monitors allow me to get more work done at home than at the office! The software was easy to install and I just checked to find there have been no updated drivers, which is rare.
Summary: I have had this monitor for three years now and it works just as well as it did the day that I got it. It is great for watching dvd on the pc. The color on it is allways amazing. If you are into great resolution this is the monitor for you. I am not for sure if it is still pricey but if so it is well worth it.
