Excerpt: After 8 years of faithful 14-hours-a-day service, my ViewSonic VP720 finally needed to be replaced. (My 10-year-old VP717 is still going strong, but it has had somewhat less use.) In other words, ViewSonic makes a great product. The VA705-LED is an excellent continuation of their 4: 3 17" series: the best one yet.The on-screen menus for adjustment are comprehensive and easy to use, and you can customize the living daylights out of this thing.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: We ship these monitors with our Uni-FI® Linux® servers, so we know how well they do in such applications. In most of these applications, the display is in VGA text mode and since the console is where the operating system will write any critical notifications, the display is enabled at all times. As a CCF backlit monitor has an expected continuous operating life of 10,000 to 15,000 hours, we have had to instruct clients to shut of the monitor whenever it wasn't needed.
Pros: This monitor has a sharp display and is more than adequate for use with servers, where a large display very high resolution is not required. The LED backlighting means that this unit should last much longer than one with CCF backlighting. See more below
Cons: There are no cons at this time. The longest period of time in which we have had one of these monitors in service is three years, so we don't have any life data to report.
Summary: I love this screen because it happens to be one of the few square screens left. I have a small working space at home and this screen fits perfectly. I'm sorry i wanted so long to get one. The picture is bright and its so much easier working on a full size screen as opposed to working on the laptop.
