Summary: this was a used monitor. The monitor looked like it had come from the showroom and it operates like new. I am using it as a home security screen and the colors are clear. I have an HP monitor for my desktop and it has no better picture than this ViewSonic.
Summary: Purchased this display on Ebay for a second computer because I already owned an Optiquest Q171b 17" LCD monitor (also made by Viewsonic) and liked it. The monitor uses very little desk space, and produces very clear and bright images and text...perfect for everyday emails, news, etc.
Summary: I like my new moniter. This is the first flat moniter I have ever had. It is like a different way of seeing what is on the internet. I am enjoying it very well. The moniter is working good. It takes up less space on my desk that is a real good plus. I had a Viewsonic moniter before. It was not a flat screen, it worked well for me too. I bought my old Viewsonic 6 years ago brand new and it still works good to this day.
Summary: This is a fairly standard flat screen. In a basic black cover the screen is quite large with five buttons in the centre underneath. The stand is quite chunky with a large slightly slanted vertical and a circular horizontal (with a slightly odd multi-facet design - presumably just for aesthetic appearance...). The screen can be rotated back and forth but not up or down. Which can get very painful if you don't have it lifted to the right height.
Excerpt: "This is my review for the View Sonic VA703b. I have been using this monitor now for close to 2 years and I have no problems with it. Instead of just being compatible with VGA it also works with the new(ish) DVI at the same time. It is an alright 17". This is OK if you want it for office work but if you want it for games, videos and pictures it is good but you would be better off with a 19" or bigger. I do play games on it and it still works ...
