Summary: Unfortunately, the monitor does not have a tilt adjustment. The monitor does not securely fit into the base. If you pick it up, the base will remain in place. The factory default settings are brightness and contrast all the way to the maximum setting. Extremely difficult to adjust any of the settings. Had to go to their website - it gave me directions, which is what I was doing. Couldn't navigate easily between the setting options.
Summary: I bought two of these monitors for my wife for a Christmas present. I was a little apprehensive because of the low price but they are working out just fine. I might buy two more when I get ready to put twin monitors on my computer.
Excerpt: This is my initial impression. As of this writing, I've had the monitor for a week.

Works well as a desktop monitor. Works great with my MacBook Pro as a second monitor. Set up was easy and quick. I have not calibrated it with my ColorMunki yet so I cannot speak to it's color accuracy.

I dinged it 1-Star due to the fact that I wish it had a tad more of tilt back.
Pros: Adjustable, Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: Good monitor at a good size. I use it as a second monitor with an HP 22 inch and unfortunately when comparing the two you can clearly see the difference in picture quality. The ViewSonic seems very white and it getting the colors to even come close is impossible. Will keep it, but definitely not that great.
Good quality for the price. Stand is underwhelming but adequate for most users.

Summary: Initial impression of this one is strong. I have to withhold a star for the base and the attachment of the base to the monitor. While I would stop short of characterizing the stand assembly as poor quality, I would say that the quality of that portion is only fair. Of course, I don't hold it too strongly against it because once you get it popped together, it really just sits there.
Pros: Great picture. I adjusted the brightness down to 40 from 60 and the colors became very rich, especially the blues. Others have complained about monitors with wobbly stands. This one is solid. Also annoying red power light. This light shines down on the desk, not right at you. I replaced a 19" 4:3 losing an inch in screen height, not noticeable. For me the stand is perfect height and tilt is fine. For the price I give it 6 Eggs.
