Summary: I have purchased ViewSonic for years. This was the first time purchasing the "less" expensive model as I always went for the second highest models on VS. For the price they are tops. I can notice some blacks are as true and the greens when I compare side by side with a top tier model, but excellent without the side by side comparison. I would purchase these again. Oh, one side note, the speaker suck.. With the volume all the way up the sound is still low and tinny.
Excerpt: I have always liked ViewSonic and when my Dell monitor crashed, I ordered this one. It was easy to install and has great clarity. It even has a small light at the base when your room is dim. The base has an adherence material so the monitor stays where you put it. It is still easy to move to another location but just know that it sticks to the surface. It is wider than my former monitor and I like that.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
EXCELLENT product and SUPERB customer service on both the amazon ...
28 July 2014
Summary: At first I could not get this to work, so I returned it - I have to say both amazon.com and the ViewSonic customer service people were INCREDIBLY helpful and very patient. It was not until I received the replacement that I realized that my own stupidity was the reason the original did not work - I kept pushing the LED (?) light to turn it on, and I did not realize that the turn-on button was under the screen - DUH!
Summary: Even when using an HDMI cable with this monitor there is still some very noticeable fuzziness to everything on the screen. None of the lines seem very crisp nor are the colors very strong even after tampering with the settings for almost an hour. After a week of use there is already a dead pixel in one of the monitors and after speaking with Viewsonic they will not fix it unless 3 pixels are dead. I would not recommend buying this monitor.
Summary: The stand consists of a base and a neck. The meager pictorial instructions said attach the neck to the base, and then the neck to the monitor. But the neck wouldn't click all the way into the monitor. I didn't want to force it too much. Also the screen tilted forward about 5 degrees. I called the ViewSonic support number, but the guy didn't know diddly. The next day, I tried assembling in a different order: neck to monitor (first!), and then base to neck.
Summary: This review is to update a previous review where I reported pixilation after 6 months of ownership. It seems that the issue was connection through a port replicator type of device. Weird that it was fine for a while and then just started getting worse over time. Anyway, direct connection to the computer appears to avoid this pixilation issue.
Pros: size, VESA mount
