Excerpt: In terms of budget 3D gaming, it's hard to find a better pick than the ViewSonic V3D231. While it lacks some of the bells and whistles of more expensive models, for only around two hundred dollars you get a 24-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display with a 2ms response time, a 20,000,000:1 contrast...
ViewSonic V3D231 3D Display - The Passive Approach
29 November 2012
Conclusion: The ViewSonic V3D231 monitor is another way to get 3D if you want an alternative to active 3D. With the choice between active and passive 3D I would tend to use passive myself, but that would be with monitors that were equal in other regards.
Summary: Final Thoughts
Well even if this monitor did not have a 3D capability I would definitely recommend it. It is one of the best displays that I have seen in a while. The darks are very dark and the brights are very vibrant.
Pros: – 3D Ready, – TriDef 3D software included, – HDMI, DVI, and VGA connections, – Thin and sleek, – Great performance, color reproduction is awesome, 2ms response time
Cons: – 3D glasses are not that comfortable, – TriDef 3D software does not get automatically installed
Excerpt: Viewsonic's V3D231 is a 23in Full HD monitor with a TN panel and passive 3D - that is, you don't need bulky active-shutter glasses to view 3D. Instead, it comes with a pair of polarised glasses and clip-ons for those who wear specs.
Excerpt: Bij passieve 3D schermen wordt een eenvoudige, lichte bril gebruikt die niet knippert en slechts weinig helderheid wegneemt. Wij testen twee van deze schermen, een van HP en een van Viewsonic.
