Not quite what we were expecting

inthegr8nw, Amazon
18 February 2014
  • Summary: First it is only Windows 8 compatible, but not certified. There is a big difference between the two and you do not get the 5 point touch contact that really is needed for Windows 8. Also, it does not have a space between the frame and the actual screen so it is very difficult to get the proper swipe functions that you use in Windows 8. This was returned because of it's lack of functionality.

Calibrate the Screen in Windows 8 and it works great

William Schrier, Amazon
2 February 2014
  • Summary: I've seen a number of reviews complaining about the inability to get gestures working on the edges of this monitor in Windows 8. I had the same problem, for example getting the "charms" bar to appear when swiping in from the right. The solution is to calibrate the touchscreen display in the control panel and then it works fine. Windows 8 is still a challenge for those of us used to mouse-and-keyboard, but that's a problem with the OS, not this touchscreen product.

Image is incredible

Marilyn, Amazon
27 December 2013
  • Summary: The image is incredible - next step is to buy a windows 8 computer and we'll try out the touchscreen. I already have a Viewsonic so i imagine everything will work wonderfully, but I'll be sure to update once we test it.

Warning: shiny screen

Robert P., Newegg
9 December 2013
  • Summary: Unless you're a fan of glossy screens, plan to spend money and time for an anti-glare film to stick to the surface. It is difficult to apply a filter to such a large screen even with an abundance of caution and patience.
  • Pros: Single-point touch works quite well in Linux. It also works when used as part of a multi-monitor array once you've configured the xinput device with the right coordinate transformation matrix.
  • Cons: The glossy finish gave me headaches until I bought an expensive anti-glare film. Now the viewing angle has suffered somewhat when compared to the inexpensive matte-finish monitor next to it. This is a disappointing result for a touch-screen technology whose main benefit is that it doesn't require extra layers of film on top of the display surface.
