Impressive TV with poor sound

kriscn, Viewpoints

  • Excerpt: I have been using this TV for last 15 months and it works great for the price i paid about 260$ in TigerDirect with bing cashback.  Picture is perfect in this TV/Monitor combination.  However, view angles is limted.  if you are lying on the floor and try to watch TV you will be definitely disappointed.  It works great only with straight angles.  One major problem with this TV is the sound.

Just a few cracks

Overstock

  • Summary: I ordered two of these monitors because the price was right. They arrived very promptly and are both superb in terms of clarity and color (WHAT COUNTS IN MY BOOK). Unfortunately, both monitors have multiple cracks in the transparent plastic that covers the bezel - that's a serious cosmetic issue but doesn't affect the monitors' quality so I am happy.

Requires heavy adjustments, but a great monitor overall

Josi Kim, Amazon

  • Summary: I actually purchased this monitor back in November '08 and I returned it out of utter disgust, cause it looked absolutely terrible as a monitor. The washed out colors, blacks looked greyish-blue, etc. If you read many of the other reviews on here, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. However, I loved the TV portion. For some reason, the colors would change dramatically as soon as you switched over to the tuner.

A surprise in a few ways - mostly good, some bad.

Scott P. Moran, Amazon

  • Summary: First off I'll preface this by saying I've unknowingly been using a S-IPS (if you don't know, it's a monitor panel type with fantastic viewing angle and excellent color reproduction, but slower response time. Where as a TN display - which this monitor uses- has faster response time, generally larger sizes and is usually cheaper, but not so good viewing angles and comparatively worse color spectrum) for 3 years.
