Summary: I bought this Samsung 24" LCD HDTV 6 months ago to replace an old Magnavox 20" CRT in the bedroom that finally went out after 20yrs of usage. I intend to use this as a "tide-me-over" until I can afford a bigger/nicer LCD for the living room and can re-purpose this guy as a regular computer monitor. Is this Samsung perfect? No. Does it fill the void I needed it to? Absolutely. Would I buy it again? Definitely.
Summary: Outside of the three issues discussed below, this set (24") is fine for small viewing areas. Color and HD detail are both excellent. One issue is the viewing angle, which is very limited, both side-to-side and when the set is elevated, for example, on a wall mount. Another issue is dark and low-light scenes, such as night time. The Samsung picture becomes too dark making it hard to see what's going on.
Summary: great monitor. sweeter lcd hdtv. hands down best bang for the buck. cannot emphasize that enough. only complaint is the random flickering pixels. nussiance may be associated with the pc and not the monitor itself. switch between pc and tv with a hit of a button.
Summary: This is a pretty good TV/Monitor. It works well for the way we are using it, but it has some limitations. There is only one set of composite inputs, and no regular RCA. This makes it less useful to people who haven't upgraded more to HDMI. It only has two of those inputs, which is another limitation. The placement of the speakers is a little odd too. The sound seems to go straight down, not really giving a stereo feel.
Summary: I've been very pleased with this monitor. I hooked up TV, a computer via DVI and a 360 via component (and RCA for audio). Everything is working as I would expect it to. Picture quality is good although there's a faint glare if you're not viewing from exactly front forward. The 360 looks exceptionally nice. The only two negatives I have are sound and physical adjustments.
Summary: The picture on this TV is a bit dark, but I was able to lighten it up a bit. The picture quality is excellent. The sound isn't the greatest and is typical for TVs of this size... but for the price it is a gem! The TV came packaged nicely and ready to plug in!
Summary: Picture:10/10 Audio: 6/10 Inputs: 5/10 Summary: You get what you pay for. Pros: Order came quickly, picture looks absolutely fantastic as both a secondary PC monitor and a HDTV. Cons: No VESA mount, no composite or s-video inputs at all (!?), tinny speakers, extremely touchy power cord input. Wouldn't suggest for design pros/color matching.
"Very good monitor/TV for the price, poor viewing angles"
13 October 2009
Pros: Excellent connectivity options. Have hooked it up to my home-theater and Laptop (Using VGA). Clear picture, good flesh-tones when viewed straight-on
Cons: No downward tilt. If the TV is 1-2 feet over the eye level (for example viewing while lying down on bed), the picture appears to be dark. No downward tilt ensures you cannot fix this. Poor speakers, though I don't rely on those.
Summary: HD is beatiful. Analog is not good. The worst thing is remote. Its bottom round shape is irritating as you cannot operate it with one hand if it's on the table. You HAVE to use both hands on most operations! Pretty idiotic! Sound is cheap. But again, the HD picture is inspiring and leaves you wishing all channels are in 1080i HD (beats my 32" Sharp Aquos 720p by a mile).
