Excerpt: Ahhh, the television. My greatest friend, and my greatest foe when I have a paper due within 3 hours before class and I have yet to start. I purchased this television from costco for my room, and I used to have a small, cube-like LCD TV. It was definitely time to get a monitor that was less cubey and more flat and high definition. This television is definitely bright and the colors are crisp and clear.
Excerpt: I use this TV in my room mainly just for cable or to watch shows off my media player. I must say I love all the features of this TV! It has many different options when watching regular cable TV to get a better picture quality. It also supports many types of resolutions and aspect ratios, including the common 1080p (1920 x 1080). It has a ratio of 16 by 10, so unfortunately all shows watched have black bars whether it is 4 by 3 or 16 by 9.
Summary: I had been using this flawlessly as a bedroom TV for at least a year or so and it has done its job well. The picture is great and the sound is reasonable for a set of its price. I had to write a review when we decided to upgrade the size of our bedroom TV to a 32" and I replaced this set. I decided to give it a shot as a computer monitor and when I started to play Starcraft II with this monitor attached, I instantly regretted not using it as a computer monitor sooner!
Summary: less than a year after buying this monitor from tiger direct brand new not a refurb or recertified the picture disappeared replaced by horizontal bars. i will make it a point to tell people not to buy samsung products unless they are willing to to risk their hard earned dollars on crappy quality.
Summary: Playing my computer games at 1920 x 1200 resolution has been amazing over the past years, and it is just so nice to have everything in one setup. I have my PS3, PC, and Cable Box all connected to this HDTV, and the picture is great for each thing. The speakers are not that bad at all other, yet I use headset for most of my gaming needs anyway. It is a pity they don't make these monitors anymore, they truly have a nice lifespan on them for all the features they provide.
"Fantastic monitor with slightly too bright blacks."
29 September 2011
Pros: First, the monitor itself. Works flawlessly, no dead or stuck pixels, no flickering or any other issues at all. Second, the performance. As a computer monitor, it looks fantastic. Bright, accurate colors. Very sharp. Screen is not reflective so it i
Cons: The only con I think is significant enough to mention is that the blacks are not as black as I wish they were. Granted, as a cathode-backlit LCD, it is what it is, but still the bright bleed top and bottom is fairly annoying. Especially since it's a 16:
Summary: Pros: Large, many inputs, WOULD HAVE been a pretty good price for a monitor of DECENT quality. Keep reading. Cons: Beware if you own an ATI Radeon video card: This monitor will very likely NOT accept DVI input from it. Nobody knows why. Samsung says it's ATI's fault, and ATI says it's Samsung's fault. I'm inclined to blame Samsung due to the host of other problems with the monitor.
Summary: Delivery is on time. The product is good. A few things to note: 1. Take long time to warm up each time it is turned on. 2. If the power is disconnected and connected again, the power button on the monitor must be pushed to turn it on, which is not needed with many other monitors. Other things are OK, about the resolution, color, etc.
Summary: I received this monitor for Christmas and have really enjoyed it so far. The colors are great, the image is crisp and it is fast. I hooked it up to my MacBook with a DVI adapter and run it simultaneously with the MacBook screen (non-mirrored mode). The majority of my work is done on the monitor - I use the laptop screen for a temporary holding place for windows that I need sparingly. The 24" screen is set at 1920x1200.
Summary: i've had this TV for 2 years. never a problem. HDTV looks great. Looking forward to seeing a blu-ray DVD on it to fully exploit the 1080p capability. it's hooked up to a dvd player using the hdmi input. and have a cheap but effective sound system to handle the audio. the tv speakers are ok but there's only so much sound you can get out of a thin LCD TV; i'd recommend a low cost sound system instead.
