Decent monitor, but has some shortfalls
Joshua S., Newegg
2 February 2014
Summary: Overall I wouldn't definitely not buy this monitor again. It looked great as I purchased this back when LED was the new hotness, but it definitely has enough usability issues to consider other options now.
Pros: Picture is bright and clear.
Cons: Monitor cannot be removed from the stand, so it is not mountable in any way. Stand has no height adjustment, very little tilt adjustment, and is not very stable. No VGA input if you have integrated graphics or a legacy system. External AC adapter making clean cable management more difficult.
Pros: This is a very good looking monitor, thin and elegant. Very bright and clear colors, definitely an improvement from LCD monitors.
Cons: If you connect your monitor to the PC via the HMDI cable instead of DVI, you get some blurring which hurt your eyes. I started to have very bad headaches after only 5 minutes. I switched to the DVI and it worked fine. Adjusting the colors and its functions is quite difficult. If you install the m...
Summary: For me, a product must first and foremost serve it's function. The screen may or may not be good, but I just couldn't manage to fix what I didn't like. If you know what the Pantone matching system is, this monitor probably isn't going to be good enough to server your professional needs.
Pros: Nice looking design. Super thin. Super bright. Decent quality mfg. LED backlight uses third less power than CFL type.
Cons: I don't care about Pros at all. As for the bad... I'm not sure if coming from an IPS screen makes my judgment unfair, but if so, I state that now. The screen itself...is fantasticly bright on first sight, then you notice that the top and bottom dim just a bit. Then theres a weird color distortion...
Summary: If a customer gets a good one these are fantastic monitors but there seems to be some quality control issues. This doesn't look good for Samsung's reputation. I hope they see this review and take the issue seriously.
Pros: Great picture if you get a good one.
Cons: First let me state that I currently had already purchased one which runs great and I love it. Which is why I wanted another so I decided to grab one when I received some extra cash to afford another. Well that day came and ordered one from Newegg once I received it and turned it on I seen a pink ...
Summary: This is a very good monitor...complaints I've read about fuzzy text, coloring can all be fixed easily with the settings. It's a very crisp picture and the only thing I found wrong with it is that the screen wobbles. This isn't a big deal depending on what you use it for.
Summary: It's a decent monitor. I have a color calibrator from XRite, and after calibration the colors are fairly good. They do seem a little washed out at times, but not as much as an older Samsung I had. The connectivity options aren't great.
Summary: I've owned this monitor for 6 months now, and it has been a mixed bag for me. Good: The colors are very bright and vibrant, much more so than my previous Samsung 2333HD. I am not a professional reviewer and don't have any calibration tools, so it is a huge plus that the out-of-the-box color accuracy...
Pros: This monitor is not all that good although it is an LED monitor its black levels aren't all that solid especially compared to my older 2008 dell monitor non led. The black levels look kind blueish compared to the dell which are more of an ink black. Overall it is a good monitor in terms of color ...
Cons: while using the monitor for normal use it might seem as if the black level look pure black but it can be deceiving? as you will notice when viewing movies in a dark room or when compared to a NON LED monitor side by side
Summary: While the blackest black on the monitor is pretty black. It has issues viewing them from a lower angle. So I would only suggest this monitor if your eye level is even with the center or above.
Pros: Excellent response time. Specs on paper make it appear to be in the top for 23" monitors.
Cons: When looking at it from a lower angle (IE eyes sitting at the bottom of the screen) blacks tend to blend togeather higher up on the screen.
