Good monitor, some issues

Falafel, Amazon
6 April 2011
  • Summary: This gets 3 stars because... Minus 1 star because the first one I received was defective. It had a huge patch (the size of my palm) of light leak on the right half of the screen. The replacement has some light leak at the bottom of the screen around the power button but it's nothing I can't live with. Minus 1 star because the Magictune software that comes with the monitor is really clumsy. As a side note, Amazon didn't package the monitors very well.

Great Monitor with a Bad Stand

Antipode, Amazon
28 December 2010
  • Summary: I've owned this monitor for 6 months now, and it has been a mixed bag for me. Good: The colors are very bright and vibrant, much more so than my previous Samsung 2333HD. I am not a professional reviewer and don't have any calibration tools, so it is a huge plus that the out-of-the-box color accuracy is great, and better than most monitors. I am also happy with the blacks: they look deep while dark details are not crushed.

"Good monitor, but some design concerns"

JKH68, CNET
9 August 2010
  • Pros: Great picture. Easy to set up. Extremely thin depth. Cool looking.
  • Cons: Picture changes dramatically depending on viewing angle. Base of monitor is not very sturdy. Monitor actually shakes when I use my mouse on a sturdy table.

Pretty good, but could stand improvement

  • Summary: It's a decent monitor. I have a color calibrator from XRite, and after calibration the colors are fairly good. They do seem a little washed out at times, but not as much as an older Samsung I had. The connectivity options aren't great. It's a minor annoyance, sure, but in this day and age, good connectivity should be ubiquitous. If you want Analog, you need to use the DVI port with an adapter (they provide a cable).
