Summary: Buy it if your a gamer, and if you wanna save money and hope it's audio jack actually works prepare to be disappointed. That won't stop me from actually aiming to get at least another one of these someday. Other thoughts.
Pros: Amazing resolution, amazing for gaming. Definitely want 1-2 more for a multi GPU set up on my GTX 590's.
Cons: Nvidia GPU detects the screen as able to produce it's own audio, but have not noticed any internal speakers for it, but instead a audio out jack in the back. I'd rather have internal speakers then a audio out jack. Also, upon testing the audio out jack from the GTX590's it doesn't work at all and...
Summary: I read some of the other reviews; my conclusion, there is a short between the seat and keypad. the on off function is sensitive, but once you learn to scan your finger across the right area, it works flawlessly, although with the remote on my nightstand i think i have only turned it on/off that way...
Pros: Really clear screen, nice colors compared to the 24" Dell that this now complements. I have a lot of screen real estate to play with now. Regardless of the cons, I think it's a great buy and I'm happy.
Cons: The base of this thing is quite large, but the it's basically a piece of plastic that connects the stand and the monitor. I'm a developer, I type a lot, fast and not exactly mouse like. The monitor jiggles on the desk meaning I'm going to have to find a solution or it's going to drive me nuts!
Cons: Has a 1/8 to a 1/4 inch clear platic ring around the edge for no apparent reason instead of just letting the trim end. First thing my wife said was "what that trim stuff for?", so I guess it's fairly noticeable.
Summary: Pretty heavy and mounted on a tiny arm that joins a large base. Somewhat springy, but in actual use not a problem. I've feared tilting the screen as it is quite stiff and the mount seems fragile. I think 24" at this resolution is as large as one should consider for text.
Pros: Big! Bright! Adjustable stand (tilt only) Very Good Buy. As bright as LED-based Monitor. Probably better for Games & DVDs than actual work that needs text to be clear.
Cons: Resolution should probably be higher for this size if it is to be used to resolve text and not just play games. After extensive adjust, turning on and optimizing text using Cleartype feature in Windows, text is not as clear as my 24 inch monitors. Some text sizes are shadowed by color. This is a ...
Pros: This is a really good monitor for the price (299). I have been using it for several hours and am really impressed with it overall. Great color, perfect size for gaming. When it's time to buy a new monitor I always get a Samsung Syncmaster, and this is no different. If it keeps working great, it's...
Cons: menu controls are a little annoying but, really, who cares about that. At this point I have nothing bad to say.
Summary: You can not use an aftermarket stand or mounting equipment with these monitors. You can not rotate the monitors to vertical position. I have noticed that the buttons are finicky & at some times unresponsive.
Pros: Huge screen, great deep blacks, amazing response time. Super bright, had to knock the brightness & contrast down to about 75% after I set them up.
Cons: Bezel is HUGE. I have 2 side by side & not only is the bezel huge but there is about an 1/8th inch of clear plastic all the way around the extreme edges of the bezel. so even side by side they look kinda awkward. Stand is flimsy, but doesn't seem to be a problem once you get them seated correctly...
Summary: I wanted a fairly large monitor for my office/gaming room. The 1ms drew me in and the customer reviews set my decision in stone. My plans for this monitor were to use it for my basic PC Gaming/Online browsing/XBOX 360 + PS3 Gaming.
