Summary: I love the picture! I use it as a computer monitor and a TV. The price was great and I couldn't be happier. I would recommond this TV to all. Some complain about the sound, but working with the PC speakers, the sound is not a problem.
Summary: PROS: Kinda surprised that I'm the first person to write a review for this great 19" HDTV from Samsung. I guess 19" (actually, 18.5") monitors are not all that popular as they're generally too small for anything but a smallish space. In my case, I use it in my office adjacent to a pair of Samsung 2233 21.5" monitors that my wife and I use. The 933HD+ is a great little HDTV/Monitor that's just perfect for the space I have.
Summary: Agree with previous reviewers...above average picture, below average speakers....we use it in the kitchen and crank up the volume all the way to hear anything....presence of digital "QAM" tuner negates need for extra cable box to pick up basic digital channels....in short, excellent value for price....$159 at local Costco on the date of this review.
Summary: Bought this from another retailer, for a bedroom, and I'm actually very pleased. The unit looks discrete and the quality appears good. It's well designed, and has a good asthetic. I think you need to shift your expectations on this one - this is a computer monitor, with a digital Freeview tuner. The speakers are pretty much incidental - I'd imagine Samsung put them in incase it was used as an occasional TV.
Summary: Just to confirm what others have said. Poor sound that is NOT much improved by the EQ settings IMO. But a simple computer sound system of 2 speakers + sub-woofer makes a HUGE difference. It may be that all TVs of this size have a "tinny" speaker issue...I don't know...but this one certainly does. Picture is very good to my eye, on the internal Freeview tuner and especially with an external Freesat box and HD.
Summary: This is a good TV. Plenty of adjustments and features. Am quite happy with the picture, but while the sounds on most 19 inch TV's are nothing special this one is very tinny. You can inprove it by going into the custom settings and adjusting the equalisers, makes it tolerable. However I had a £10 speaker box, single box, only 10 inches long, which I used for my MP3 player in the car.
Summary: This is a great TV/computer monitor with an installed digital tuner with a good quality picture, i.e. fast response and good viewing angle. The only problem I had was with the limited instructions and not spotting the D.menu button on the remote. Failing to install the digital channels, I called the Samsung Helpline, which immediately solved the problem. There was a minor blemish on the screen due to a dust particle under the polariser/protective film.
Summary: Bought this on Thursday was on the phone to Samsung on the Saturday. When in standby it switches itself on for a few seconds, you get sound with no picture. It frightended the life out of me when I was getting a drink in the middle of the night! They say it needs a firmawre update so you have to arrange for them to pick it up (free of charge) and then they say it takes 5-7 working days to get back to you.
Summary: So i had this tv for a month and then had to put it up for sale to help with college funds but for the time i had it i thought it was an ideal TV. I used it manly for gaming but i would occasionally watch a bit of freeview on it. When playing games i felt no indication of delay, or lag from the telly and the picture would always be bright and detailed.
