Summary: the size and resolution are better than what is currently offered as of 01/11/11 the LCD monitor is brighter than the LED monitors currently offered. the savings to get an old monitor is staggering the risk is obvious but i got very lucky and found two great ones from this seller... this is when Ebay actually works well.. I saved around $3000 from my new video business budget and now can afford a better new video camera.
Summary: I love this monitor? As a photographer and videographer I use it as my primary display. It is connected to my Macbook Pro. The size is great for editing photos and for having multiple windows open. Could use a few more connection possibilities.
Summary: I do mostly home office and ocassionally a game (flight sims). I'm a retired spacecraft engineer and really love that I don't need reading glasses to read text. The screen is matte instead of glossy and the bezel very thin and also non-glare; unusual these days. First class. I've had many monitors over the years and this one is at the top of the list. I mounted it on an articulated arm screwed to the wall (into a stud) like bigscreen TVs often use.
Pros: Matte screen no glare, Sharp Image, Thin and matte bezel, Versatile, Vivid Colors
Summary: I love the real estate that comes with this monitor. In photography I see much more detail; for other applications I can have multiple windows readily available on a single monitor. I have used it for several months and it is nearly perfect for me. When I help my wife on her computer with a 1600x1200 monitor I feel I am looking through a peephole.
Pros: High Resolution, Lightweight, Sharp Image, Vivid Colors
Summary: We already had an Apple Cinema 23" Display at home and I was using it for photo retouching. It was and still is a very good monitor, but this Samsung 305+ is just better. It is not just a matter of size of course, but the image is crispier, the colors even more faithful, and the contrast is superior. The dot pitch is smaller than the Apple. I calibrated with the Eye1 without problems.
Summary: I recently purchased a new 30" Samsung monitor, and I'm very pleased. There were no dead pixels on my unit and the image is crisp. Best of all, Samsung hasn't jumped on the glossy screen bandwagon. The most annoying and brain-dead thing a monitor manufacturer could do is make a glossy screen where you can see your reflection, or a glossy case that shows dust and fingerprints. This unit is neither.
