"Another "great while it lasted rating""

Chip_b, CNET
25 September 2011
  • Pros: Large, supports 2560x1600, energy star, 3 year warranty (needs a 5 year warranty), good color
  • Cons: Lacks longevity - after 25 months the monitor went out, fortunately the 3 year warranty is still valid and it's off the NJ for repair. No HDMI

"I love it when it works, but it's not reliable."

jeffstearns, CNET

  • Pros: Great viewing angle, nice and big. Nice 3-year warranty.
  • Cons: You'll need that warranty. The integrated power supply emits buzzing and whistles if any dimmers are in use, even when they're on different circuits. I've had two failures in 35 months. This second failure probably can't be fixed. It's still under w

"Great until it dies (twice)"

sonpit, CNET
23 August 2011
  • Pros: Overall ... Excelent
  • Cons: I am on my 3rd monitor. First one lasted about 2 years and the replacement died a week before my warranty was up. So far, the 3rd one is still working. If this one dies, I'm out $1,200. Stay far away from this monitor ... Used or new!

"On the Fritz after 4 years & $1200"

someolboy, CNET
19 March 2011
  • Pros: Beautiful display monitor, excellent video & gaming quality if you have enough graphics power. Nice quality even if you do not have high powered graphics.
  • Cons: This seems like an unusually large investment for only 4 years of service.

$$$ On The Money $$$ <<< this monitor rocks >>>

nosugarnocheze, Ebay
11 January 2011
  • Summary: the size and resolution are better than what is currently offered as of 01/11/11 the LCD monitor is brighter than the LED monitors currently offered. the savings to get an old monitor is staggering the risk is obvious but i got very lucky and found two great ones from this seller... this is when Ebay actually works well.. I saved around $3000 from my new video business budget and now can afford a better new video camera.

"Worked for only 2 years"

cjwathen, CNET
26 July 2010
  • Pros: The size. That's it.
  • Cons: After having this monitor for 2 years it broke. The monitor just quit working. If you have one I hope it keeps working for you, but after reading reviews with a similar situation, I doubt it. Worse waste of $1200 ever spent. Thanks Samsung!

"These are awesome even by today's monitors."

jaysonjust, CNET
29 May 2010
  • Pros: Price, you can't get this resolution for this price anywhere else. They are better than the Apple and Dell versions witch all have the same Dual Link DVI requirement.
  • Cons: Not big enough - I currently use two and wish I had more desktop space. They use a lot of power but they have an energy star label. Heavy & hard to move but for the size, its understandable.
