Summary: I purchased this monitor to have a large display that I could use in portrait mode. I used it at the office to show client presentations and it works great and provides a large enough screen to view from a few feet away. This is exactly what I wanted. The only draw back is the angle of view has to be pretty straight on when in portrait mode or the colors do not appear correctly. This is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.
Summary: THE MOST HARM DONE TO MY CUSTOMER SUPPORT VIEW OF SAMSUNG PRODUCTS IS THE ABANDONMENT OF RESPOSIBLITY TO TO REPAIR THE BD-P1200 FIREWARE SCREW-UP .. I PAID AROUND $500 FOR THE BD-P1200 .. ABT. A FEW MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY A FIRMWARE UPDATE LEFT MY PLAYER NON-OPERATIONAL .. ALL PLAYERS SHOULD OF BEEN RECALLED .. BUYER SHOULD HIRE A LAWYER BEFORE BUYING SAMSUNG PRODUCTS .. HA! HA! WHERE IS SAMSUNG LOYALTY TO THE EARLY ADAPTER CUSTOMERS ..
Summary: I have owned this monitor for nearly a year and I still love it. It sat next to a 24" Samsung for quite a while and is now my only monitor. The brightness is a little much and can't really be tweaked, the color is off somewhat and there's a lot of back light bleed through at the edges. The controls are abysmal and that coupled with the monitor not working with a Samsung DVD player on DVI is why it only got 4 stars.
Summary: Just got this monitor, and my main concern was all the comments about the touch buttons. I just can not figure what the complaints are. They are easily visible - they have labels. They work very nicely. And the sequencing of the Menu/selectors/up-down-settings buttons is just typical on most monitors and I got the buttons down pat in about a minute. AND, this design gives it a very nice smooth look. It passed the wife test.
Summary: I replaced a 19" Viewsonic VX924 with this monitor, and so far my choice has been a good one. My monitor had 0 dead pixels, which was the first thing I looked for when I got it connected. The second thing I did when I got the monitor, was turn the brightness down. I think I burned a hole in my retinas... No joke, this thing is BRIGHT. The screen is gorgeous, and the housing is attractive as well. The colors really seem to "pop" compared to my last monitor.
Summary: I did a lot of research on monitors, learning the lingo which had changed since my last monitor purchase. I upgraded from a 21" Sony Trinitron Multiscan 500PS which I was very happy with, but Sony no longer makes monitors so I was back to square one. After reading many reviews on various brands I decided on a Samsung. Overall the reviews were very good, and Samsung had the best warranty (3 years).
Summary: I had been looking for a new monitor for about a year, I wanted a large monitor for photo editing. My trusty AOC monitor was dying. I chose the 2693HM monitor because the 30 inch monitors seemed very inflexible. Most of the 30 inchers only work with one or a handful of video cards, don't have multiple inputs, no onscreen menu (I think one of the newer Dells is an exception) . Basically, if you want a 30 incher you have to build a computer for the monitor you want.
Believe those who actually own and have tested this product!

Summary: To address the previous "reviewer's" comments on this monitor. I, within the last few days, purchased the Samsung 2693HM 25.5 in. monitor, and can attest to the fact that not only are Blu-ray movies allowed to play on this monitor, they look great! Using an HDMI chord I was able to play "I Am Legend"(Blu-ray disc), through my Playstation 3, with no problem at all.
Summary: I have to say that I whole-heartedly disagree with the past few reviews of this product. I own it and have been very satisfied with both the build quality, color reproduction, and screen resolution of this monitor. A higher resolution than 1920 x 1200 on a monitor this size would display text that is borderline unreadable. I am not old, either. I am in my 20s and I work in front of a computer for over 40 hours a week as a graphic designer.
Summary: I'm not a monitor expert, but I love this one. I wanted a 26 inch that would rotate & this one does a great job. The rotate software doesn't seem to work with my system, but I simply click 90-degree rotate on my NVIDIA video card menu & it works fine. As one review mentioned on CNET, the lower viewing angle (like slumped in your chair) is not good at all. Left, right and from above are great.
