It is a great product which appears durable.

Summary: I bought this product because the view-able area is bigger than recent models. Touch switch is great. Auto screen blanking is good. Initial turn on screen response appears a bit slow. This product would be essential to older models of computers.
Summary: I bought 3 of these monitors in mid 2009. All 3 of them died within the first year. Samsung offered to replace with refurbished items, but the replacements all had dead pixels. That being said these monitors are great while they last.
Summary: I've had this monitor for just under 6 months now. The size is great for 1080p, anything smaller on the diagonal and the dot pitch would be too small for me to view comfortably without leaning in (I wear contacts usually, glasses occasionally, basic nearsightedness @ -2.00, nothing special).
Summary: The Bad: 1. The soft-touch menu "buttons" are a pain. They activate when you lightly brush up against them (e.g. while reaching to adjust a speaker next to the screen). Also the labeling of the buttons is unreadable unless the lighting in the room is just right (dark gray ink on black plastic)...
Summary: I took a lot of time to research a good all purpose monitor and found this was a good bang for the buck..nice pix, no dead pixels and very versatile in horizontal and vertical positions... ive read a lot of people complain about the touch controls..
Summary: Comments about Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM Widescreen LCD Monitor: I just bought a new gaming PC and wanted the right monitor to complement the system. I was happy with 20" Apple Cinema display, but wanted something bigger. After doing some research, I came across this particular monitor.

Gorgeous monitor. 24 diagonal inches of eye candy.

Summary: What can I say? This monitor is AWESOME! This is the first time I ever had to push the monitor BACK. I'm used to leaning forward to get close to the screen but not with this bad boy. Backlighting appears totally consistent all over its huge area.
