    While graphics artists may not be too impressed, the budget conscious user will find a lot to like in the 2493HM. Overall we think the Samsung 2493HM is a good monitor and we would recommend the 2493HM to anyone looking for a large 24" monitor that doesn't require the professional color accuracy and gamut of an expensive screen.     I bought 3 of these monitors in mid 2009. All 3 of them died within the first year. Samsung offered to replace with refurbished items, but the replacements all had dead pixels. That being said these monitors are great while they last. Exceptionally clear picture and great color accuracy, smooth motion, nice form. But at this price (about $5o0 each, new), I expected better durability. Read more

    Good built monitor. Design is very good but sometimes buttons are hard to see. This is good monitor for gaming and daily use. This is perfect size monitor- not too big, not too small. Easy to move the monitor up and down. Read more

    • Excellent quality. Touch panel buttons. Rotation support. Samsung. Has HDMI, VGA, and DVI inputs. Rotates. 1000:1 contrast ratio. 1920 x 1200 resolution.
    • No usb. Touch sensitive buttons are a bit hard to see.

    I mostly use it for office work, no gaming experience. It's connected to a Macbook Pro. Incredible resolution. Very stylish design. The one negative is the touch sensitive brightness/contrast and volume controls. Unless there is light directly on the display, it can be difficult to see the "buttons". It takes getting used to.     Comments about Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM Widescreen LCD Monitor: I just bought a new gaming PC and wanted the right monitor to complement the system. I was happy with 20" Apple Cinema display, but wanted something bigger. After doing some research, I came across this particular monitor. I was comparing this monitor with Samsung's 245T and was surprised to find out that this monitor outperformed the 245T and was roughly half the price. Read more

Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM is a 24-inch LCD monitor. Among of its main features include Height Adjustable Stand (HAS), built-in-speakers, HDMI technology, full 1080p HD, 10,000:1 contrast ratio and fast response time. It is designed in full black color finish.

Features

The SyncMaster 2493HM features HDMI allowing user to view high definition image on the monitor. Besides that, it has built-in speakers. It also features 5ms fast response time which reduces blur and supplying clear images making the monitor ideal to play games and watch action movies. In addition, it has 10000:1 dynamic contrast ratio that provides high contrast between light and dark colors on the screen to provide sharper image on the screen. It comes with 4-way adjustable stand allowing user to adjust the stand for with height, swivel, tilt and rotate options. It is built with 4 Watts speakers (2 Watts x 2 Channels). Additionally, it is Energy Star compliant which means that it consumes less energy. It consumes 100 Watts of power during operation and 1.5 Watt in stand by mode.
