Great Screen - Just don't order with GSM Fonz
21 March 2012
Summary: I have ordered one of these screens in the past and am in fact using it to write this review. The screen is absolutely amazing for working. I have not got any dead pixels anywhere. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and because it is large enough, you can get two pages of an A4 word document side by side whiles working on them at 100% zoom level. I find this extremely useful as I find myself having to use Open Office Writer on a daily basis.
Summary: I have 2 of these monitors already in my home office in Texas. I deal with lots of document research and study in my consulting business. Having a pair of these monitors either side of a 1600x1200 Samsung monitor makes for a great setup. These 2443BW units are superb: consistent clarity, color, and reliable repeatable performance.
Summary: This is the best monitor I have ever owned. Images on the monitor are crisp and bright, and the display be viewed from approximately 75 degrees away from face-on (despite complaints from other reviewers), although the optimal viewing angle seems to be achieved when the monitor is tilted down slightly away from the line of sight. The max resolution extends to 1920x1200, which is great for running multiple applications in multiple windows. The inputs include VGA and DVI.
Summary: Got one of these when my old Dell 19" monitor died last year. Was so impressed that I bought another one 6 months later. I work as a software engineer, using Visual Studio 2008 as the "cooking" environment, and 4 windows across two 24" screens makes for a very decent place to work. I'm running them off the docking station of a Lenovo Thinkpad T61p (one analogue, one digital) and they just work. Decent kit at a decent price.
Summary: In a nutshell...i have to admit i am really impressed and already quite smitten with this monitor! Why? I use it for playing DVD's, playing my collection of games (total war, age of empires, company of heroes etc...) and browsing the net. It does all of these things brilliantly! The colours, contrast, sharpness and vibrancy of the screen mean that i play my DVD's on this almost exclusively which means that the HD-ready plasma TV downstairs is now largely redundant.
Summary: By no means am I an expert when it comes to monitors but my new Samsung 2443BW is amazing. It completely outclasses my old 22" 1680x1050 monitor. Most 24" monitors in this price range tend to have a resolution of 1920x1080 so the 2443BW's 1920x1200 makes it somewhat special at this price. The stand is great and can be adjusted in any way I want which is a very important feature that quite a few monitors nowadays just don't seem to have.
Summary: Sleek monitor, easy to clean, simple to move, having the option to get the screen higher and tilt is wonderful, i had a old CTR before so the quality is alot better, had no issues for a year, am thinking of buying another 1 or 2 for duel screen and one for the miss' (if i cant find one that does 120Mhz for the 3d mode) Thinking of buying a monitor and looking at this? you would not be wasteing your cash.
Summary: This is a great product. I really like Samsung monitors and this is one of their stars. No gimmicks, but essentials like height and tilt adjustment, digital and analog inputs. It's now discontinued but still a great product. The only problem is a long standing issue with Samsung (and other makes of) monitors. There is an intermittent display connection which can cause a yellow vertical line to appear. Tapping the case makes it go away.
