Summary: After opening the box: made in Malaysia feb 2008 sticker with no version (s?)
Hidden menu:go to menu, contrast and brightness to zero, menu again, then hold source for 5 sec...It is a CMO version, the worst one as based on the 1000 reviews I read before on the net.
Plug the monitor on the vga port of my LG laptop (Geforce GO 7400 512Mb).
Picture looks great, not a single adjustment required.
Call of Duty 4,World in conflict...running perfectly on 16:10,clear images on action.
Summary: Love this monitor and I'm running 2 of them on my computer, which is a must IMO... makes everything so much easier to do. :) Great contrast, color, clarity and software that comes with it... unit is very solid and looks great. Can't beat it for the price.
Summary: Definatelly the best one out there at this moment ! It took me a long time to swap my old CRT 19" for a LCD and I did the right move now. It feels like a movie theater for the size.. This is the 1st good option about it. You can easily open your email and another program side to side and be confortable with it !
Summary: I swear, I have never seen so many myths and theories regarding one product like I have with this monitor. First let me say they aren't totally unfounded, however some are just wrong. First "some" of these monitors do have bleeding issues like the picture in this store points out, however it is hit or miss to a certain extent... First, let me start with the whole "S" "C" "A" panel thing.
Summary: My previous display was a 19" 4x3 format monitor (not widescreen). I wanted a wide format monitor for viewing movies and I liked having a sidebar on my screen (like the one in Vista or Google desktop). This monitor was very highly rated on several web sites. They basically said either get this monitor, or take your pick from the "also-rans". I figured "why $250 for a cheap 22-inch when I can pay $50 more and get a great 22-inch?". So that's what I did.
Summary: I've just replaced my ViewSonic VX924 gaming LCD with the Samsung 226BW. Wow, what an amazing display! It's 1000x1 contrast ratio is stellar. Blacks are extremely black and there is virtually no backlight bleed. (Backlight bleed tends to make black or dark colors look gray and it's common with LCDs.) The colors are amazingly bright and vivid. In fact its default settings are almost too bright.
Summary: This monitor has a great appearance. The screen is bright and sharp, colors are vivid, and there are no flickering or dead pixels--even with an analog signal. I bought the monitor to use in the office with my four-year-old IBM T40 for general computer use--surfing the web, email, documents, and viewing pictures. I do not use it for gaming, movies, or printing photos.
Summary: I used to own one of those huge bulky 19" inch flat-screen monitors before this one, and am I glad I made the switch - so much space on my desk now!! Now about the monitor itself: Beautiful colors, awesome size so if you're into gaming like I am this is a new experience. Also, this is perfect for web-designers and those who use photo-editors and the likes. Plenty of room to leave all toolbars, menus, etc. on the screen.
Summary: I have owned this monitor for 2 months and use it heavily for a mix of: software development, technical graphics, writing, Web surfing and games (a good mix of different text and graphics functions). Good: - Text, even small text is crisp and easy to read. - Black level is excellent. - Brightness is excellent (In fact, I operate mine at 75% brightness.
