Own 2 225bw...sent this back
21 May 2009
Summary: I purchased a Samsung 225bw a couple years ago and needed a 2nd monitor so opted for this thinking it would be the same if not better. What a let-down. Picture was totally inferior, major bleeding...had to send it back. Ended up finding a refurb on the 225 and purchased a second from that instead.
Summary: The product arrived on time with an unblemished carton condition. The product is working as expected. The purchase price fairly matched with the product. I will continue to use AMAZON for my future shopping needs. D.H.
Summary: I've always been a proud owner and religious buyer of Viewsonic monitors. After good experience with a Samsung plasma television, I decided to try a monitor as well. Im definitely happy with the image quality of the 2253BW in all aspects.
Summary: I bought this to replace a 19" LCD and am happy with it.
It required a fair amount of tweaking as it was VERY bright and VERY blue out of the box. It was easy enough to correct using my video driver, but no other monitor I have used required so much adjustment.
Summary: GENERAL This is an excellent monitor with bright, vivid colors and snappy performance. No hint of ghosting with games (of course, given its low response time). It does suffer from defects that plague nearly all LCDs, such as poor black level performance and some light bleeding.
Summary: A fine monitor which is most difficult to assemble. Try as I might, I could NOT get the ball on the stand to enter the socket on the monitor using the Samsung instructions. I'm 6'2" and weigh 200 and am no wimp. Using all my strength was not enough.
Summary: Quick and dirty review.. Pros: - Pic quality - excellent when using DVI. - Looks - Exterior is very striking and "apple'sque". Cons: - Bleeding from top and bottom of screen when on a pure black image. Might be fixable in the menu, but it really doesnt bother me.
Summary: When I bought this I was trying to decide between a Viewsonic and this one. I wanted a basic black and the Viewsonic had too much silver on it. Although it looks like a silver bar on the bottom of the Sammy it's actually a clear plastic one, which is very nice.
Summary: Since I encountered my first major issue today, I got lost in "troubleshooting" links trying to find a solution, found loads of reviews on this monitor, but none of them were long time owners as I am, so I thought I'd add a piece.
