Summary: I've had a Samsung 206BW which I've used lightly (on weekends mainly) for some time; just as my Samsung 226BW which died, this one is starting to exhibit the same problems: starts flickering when turned on, eventually stabilizes, but at some point it will completely die. The reason seems to be well known, a cheap faulty capacitor you can buy right here on Amazon, with which you can fix this problem if you care to disassemble your monitor and do some soldiering, which i'm...
Summary: These monitors are great, colors and brightness are very good. I dislike the amount of the backlight that bleeds around the edges, but that is only noticeable in rare circumstances. As far as bang for your buck, it's a great monitor. The lack of height adjustment is a bummer, so I've made an adapter to accommodate the standard Dell mount (which is commonly-and cheaply-discarded after buying a docking station).
Summary: I've always loved the SyncMaster line so I may be biased. However this monitor, even when purchased in used condition, is still the best bang for the buck. The color is a little "hotter" than in previous iterations of the series (I have two other older SyncMasters side-by-side here on my desk) however that may be due to the age of the other monitors, I don't know if age affects color. It has excellent specs for both office use and gaming (I use it for both).
Summary: I recently purchased (2) of these montiors for my home office and I have really enjoyed their quality and performance. They were purchased as well for a terrific price, compared to 'many, many' other monitors on the market with less quality. I would highly recommend this montior to anyone!
