Review Summary
Samsung SyncMaster 206BW is an affordable, wide-screen, 20-inch LCD monitor. With almost a lack of extra features, the 206BW comes with adequate specifications, boasting a super-fast 2 ms response time. The 206BW comes in a shiny black case with silver accents and rounded edges. The buttons used to navigate through the on-screen menus are located on the bottom of the display, and each button’s function is clearly marked just above it, making them easy to use. The base is more or less fixed with no height adjustment or pivot capability but it can incline back a few degrees and can swivel from left to right easily. There are two inputs, one analog port and one DVI digital port, for connecting up to two computers to the display with its native 1,680-by-1,050-pixel resolution. The image quality of the 20-inch widescreen offers wide viewing angles with bright colors for a very favorable viewing. Enhancing the contrast ratio with MagicColor, images appear sharp and clear, even on a darker screen. The Samsung 206BW 20-Inch Digital/Analog Widescreen LCD Monitor offers razor-sharp, widescreen image clarity. Movies look fantastic and dark scenes particularly look better. Texts are clean and clear and very legible, even at small point sizes. The color images look great. The 258 pixel pitch of this monitor is also among the best so far in its category range. A very large work space is available, can have two documents, spreadsheets, etc. side by side. The Samsung SyncMaster 206BW is a very good wide-screen desktop display. It is competitively priced and, once calibrated, gives a good performance and also provides good connectivity. With a limited viewing angle and a relatively inflexible design, and without a lot of extra features, the 206BW could be a fine choice if you’re looking for a medium-sized display on a small budget.
SyncMaster 206BW er en Windows Vista-sertifisert bredformatskjerm på 20 tommer (16:10) med høy ytelse, superrask responstid (2 ms), høyeste dynamiske kontrast (3000:1) og DVI, noe som til sammen gi…

The SyncMaster 206BW's thin black bezel and curved edges are attractively sleek. Despite very good image quality, the 206BW lacks a lot of connectivity options, so this is better for office than home-entertainment use. Read more

The Samsung SyncMaster 206BW is a very good wide-screen desktop display. It is competitively priced and, once calibrated, performed very well in our text and color tests. But, of course, you get what you pay for. Read more

The 206BW is a very good monitor for the price. Although it has some weaknesses like some gradient banding and an unimpressive stand, the positive aspects of the monitor greatly outweigh these. Excellent colour right out of the box, good viewing angles, an incredible response time and high value make this a great choice for the ‘every day’ user and PC gamer. The 206BW is a very nice looking monitor with a beautiful piano black finish and subtle accents to top it all o... Read more

Great Monitor!
Reviewer: Chuck, review.buy.com02 August 2007- Overall 10

I don't have a digital output on my graphics card yet so I can't speak to that capability. However, even with just analog VGA this monitor has really blown me away. My old CRT produced a picture that was a bit dark, but I can fully adjust the brightness and contrast so that I don't have any problems seeing things in games or video now. I have played both games and edited video on this monitor and it has been nothing short of amazing to me. There is plenty of real esta... Read more

This is my first LCD screen ever. I was holding up on buying a LCD screen because of problems with the ability of reproducing blacks and response times which causes picture blur in high movement video playback. I came across the Samsung BW line by researching what I should look for when buying a LCD monitor. Samsung has 3 models on this line: 19", 20" and 22". I picked the 19" model last Friday because I was told it had the same exact specifications of its bigger sibl... Read more
