Monitor Died After 1 Year; No Warranty Service Available
2 May 2013
Summary: I bought this monitor a little over a year ago and, while it worked, the quality was satisfactory, though--for 2D work--not superior to the 24" 1920x1200 monitor I bought many years prior and used side-by-side. This alone would not suffice to justify such a low-rated review. However, today the monitor, while in mid-usage, just broke. No image. Rechecking all the plugs had no effect. On reboot, a snowy image briefly flickered before the monitor died again.
Summary: I was very disappointed with this product, not at all what I expected from Samsung. This is was very expensive and it should work right out of the box but in my case it did not. I had to return it and purchase a different model.
Summary: I purchased Samsung's S27A950D 27-Inch Class 3D LED Monitor from Fry's. I have an ATI Sapphire HD 7970 video card and purchased this because it was on a recommended list from AMD. The Monitor itself is very nice with a bright display and a stylish design but there was a slight tilt to the left and the backlight bleed on the bottom right, which I was willing to forgive. The problem was the 3d did not work at all, either from a 3d movie played from a PS3 or my computer.
Summary: It was beautiful, particularly for Battlefield 3, but it looked like a flashlight was shining through the lower right corner. The replacement had the same problem... Hopefully Samsung can fix their Mexican factory!
Summary: I ordered this monitor because I thought Samsung would be the best choice for a monitor. The first one I received had color bleeding from the bottom right corner. A common issue with these monitors. I returned it and got a second one. This one had color bleeding from the bottom right corner and the left side of the monitor at the edges. Wasted my time and money. I thought I would get a good monitor and I was mistaken.
Summary: Pretty to look at when its off that is. Unfortunately when it on and the lights go down you can see how ugly this monitor can get. I game in a man cave and the first thing I noticed when I started using this monitor was the left side was about 1/4" lower than the right side. I verified this with a level and propped up the right side with game cases until it was level.
