Summary: Grabbed this on a surprise sale sometime ago for 500$ range to replace a 3x1 Eyefinity setup with 3 24" panels lost a lot of virtual desktop space but gained much more in desk space very impressed with the inc 3d game app( TriDef 3d http://www.tridef.com/) always new profiles on the user forums for new games that last till the next app update would recommend the display to others even at the current 700$+ price tag just one word of warning Nvidia users go elsewhere this...
Pros: 120hz refresh, 2D-3D upscale, Constantly updated 3rd party 3d gamming app (TriDef 3d), Thin Frame and light weight, ATI optimized
Cons: only real complaint is the OSD menus for 2d-3d emulation
Pros: 120 Hz, 3D, Touch controls, great picture, comes with 3D glasses, Display Port, DVI and HDMI. Easy to enter into 3D mode, will convert some 2D content to 3D. Works with PS3 3D (including 3D Blu-ray).
Cons: Not capable of being wall mounted, ac adapter instead of an internal power supply. Because of the design, the stand cannot adjust for height or swivel. Gloss screen instead of matt (lots of reflections), cross talk when using 3D.
Summary: I really wanted this monitor from the day it first come out (not sure why just did). I've finally purchased it and find it is a good looking screen which I mainly use for 2D 120hz gaming. I don't know if I'm fooling myself but it does seem to be smoother gameplay when playing fps games (like BF3) making it easier to get the kill shot =) Anyways it feels like a lot of money to throw at this monitor.
Pros: - Very fast response time, - 120hz gaming seems to be quite smooth to me, - 2D - 3D emulation from the front panel
Cons: - not 3d Vision ready (there are work arounds but don't bother asking nvidia for help), - back light bleeds through on lower right hand corner near control panel buttons (think this is just something this model suffers from but not a deal breaker), - Price
Pros: Really love this monitor when I'm using it =D Big, clear, colors/colors are A+ =), 120hz for gaming (I can never go back to 60hz, 120hz is just basically seeing your enemy or not seeing your enemy ;)(60hz))
"I love this Monitor. Beautiful is an understatement."
7 February 2012
Pros: Performance is top notch and capabilities, well it has all of them from picture to 3d to TV it is the coolest to be had. Next stop ultra high res. but not until later 2013 when there will be content that will use it.
Summary: At first I thought my monitor was just defective, but ME tried solving my problem by testing different monitors, and they all have the same cross-talk issue. Other web reviews indicate the same problem. I never had this with the S23A700D. I do not recommend this monitor for 3D. Go with the S23A700D instead. It may be smaller but the 3D image quality is sharp with no ghosting.
Pros: Generates a clear and sharp display on a 27" viewing area. Very well constructed with metal on the base and back panel. Produces very little heat which accounts for the absence of vents which is good for keeping out dust. Nicely lit control panel.
Cons: The cross-talk ghosting is very strong in 3D mode. Changing various settings such as response time, contrast, brightness, eco modes, etc. has little effect. The ghosting is more apparent when looking at the display from different angles. The 3D glasses may as well be off when viewing from various angles. Screen glare is another problem, which is common with gloss screens. Control panel buttons are sometimes non-responsive.
Summary: Excellent, though expensive, monitor that will make most any other monitor you use look horrible.
Pros: Excellent monitor, works out of the box as advertised.
3D feature is easy to use, just push a button on the monitor, helpfully labelled "3D"
It's a Samsung. so you know it is going to be a quality screen
Cons: power saving feature with the motion sensor is useless. The monitor is large enough that I'm sitting out of range of the sensor.
I'm not a fan of touch controls that Samsung has taken to using. I'd rather have tactile buttons.
Glossy screen is very reflective when the background is dark
Summary: Got this monitor for a steal from elive.co.nz for only $360 as it was factory refurbished. Came with a 18 month warranty (usually 3 years) and in immaculate condition. Arrived in a surprisingly large box with some comfortable Samsung 3D shutter glasses and all the cables you need to get it started. The monitor itself is a unique design which I have grown to like.
Summary: I would highly recomend this monitor solely on its size and refresh rate. The picture is a amazing upgrade from my old 22" acer monitor. The 3-D conversion works fairly well, with the exceptions mentioned above. I would buy 2 more for surround gaming if i had the money!
Pros: -120 hz
- 2d-3d conversion of anything
- 27" size is awsome
Cons: the tri-def software does not work with nvidia cards worth a crap. It is really only meant
for ATI cards as far as i can tell. On some games the 2d-3d conversion meshes some high contrast textures together which can be annoying. One nice thing about using the 2-d to 3-d conversion is it does not require any extra horsepower out of your graphics solution as nvidia 3d vision/ tri def does.
