Great Ol' Monitor

Gary M., Newegg
12 January 2012
  • Summary: Although this is a discontinued model, I thought I'd give it some props before I finally get it replaced and provide some feedback on it for anyone who might be considering purchasing this monitor used. As I search for and test out potential monitor replacements, I keep comparing them to this one!
  • Pros: 21.6" sized screen with 16:10 ratio is just about the perfect size display for all-purpose PC use from web browsing, document editing, videos, and gaming. Colors are vivid and and sharp, even with brightness turned down. For a TN-based panel, the viewing angles are pretty good, although I've neve...
  • Cons: The included stand was horrible -- I don't even remember if it could be articulated in any direction whatsoever. I replaced it with a Neo-Flex stand (height, rotate, and tilt options). After 5 years, this monitor is still putting out a great display, but I think the power supply is failing, has t...

Absolutely Great

Nathan W., Newegg
18 August 2008
  • Summary: I would definitely recommend this. 22" LCDs seem to be the best size to me. Not too big to fit on most desks and definitely not tooo small! Go ahead, grab one of these beauties. And get it from Newegg. As usual they had it to me two days after order was placed!
  • Pros: This LCD is beautiful. I had an HDMI Hanns G that was nice, but this thing is just better. Displays colors very nicely. Brightness is great and easy to adjust. Samsung has some nice quick options. Price is great for the quality.
  • Cons: Slight backlight bleeding, but not noticeable unless you are looking from certain angles. Huge CON is that I don't have two of these. They are worth it. Unless you want to pay quite a bit more.

Deborah B., Newegg
12 August 2008
  • Summary: I have used many lcd monitors, and this is by far my favorite one.
  • Pros: No dead pixels, great refresh rate, bright, sharp image quality. In all, i love it.
  • Cons: The stand its on could use some refinement such as height adjustment, but other than that- no cons.

20 vs. 21.6

Anonymous, Newegg
9 August 2008
  • Summary: I dual boot XP and Vista. I found it interesting that this monitor looked near perfect with XP out of the box. Albeit too bright. In Vista however, it took some tweaking, as it has that bluish look I've heard of.
  • Pros: No dead Pixels. Good color reproduction. Bright enough to give you a headache, and adjustable enough to suit your taste. Most computer products are overpriced anyway, so this monitor falls within the average price range.
  • Cons: Viewing angle is good but not great. As with most most monitors, adjustments are an annoyance. Why can't these companies put some knobs on the side of the panel that turn with a detented click or something? Sometimes retro is just plain better.

Good for the money

Laura W., Newegg
8 August 2008
  • Pros: For the money, it's a decent monitor... Almost 22" and widescreen and has good brightness and contrast.
  • Cons: The tilt is a little stiff, HOWEVER, THIS MONITOR DOES TILT. I had to take off the back cable cover to make sure the joint was hinged before I really started pushing on it. Sure enough, it DOES tilt.

Great Buy!

Nathan W., Newegg
1 August 2008
  • Summary: Unless you want to spend twice as much, you are not going to find anything better. I would recommend this to anyone. Also, it works great in a triple monitor setup!!!
  • Pros: This monitor is outstanding. It works great as a gaming monitor and even works fairly well for photoshop and after effects. It isn't the cheapest, but it is better than the HannsG 21.6" I have that was cheaper.
  • Cons: Really has none.

User Review

Tommy S., Newegg
23 July 2008
  • Summary: Great monitor for the price, I doubt I'll be replacing this any time soon.
  • Pros: Excellent straight out of the box, no dead pixels, easy setup and great picture quality.
  • Cons: None really, but if I had to pick one its the rather small view angle.

Brilliant Colors

Anonymous, Newegg
16 July 2008
  • Summary: My first one had 2 stuck pixels. I fixed one with JScreenFix, but the other one persisted. I am in the process of RMA-ing.
  • Pros: Large viewing area with fantastic colors. Very sleek design. GREAT resolution.
  • Cons: The only real cons are in the stand. You can not raise or lower, or tilt up or down; all you can do is swivel. It's not quite as bright as I had hoped, but that's no biggie.

  • Summary: Using 2 of these with an Nvidia 9800 GX2 , intel q600, and XP pro and they both work great.
  • Pros: I bought 2 of them and they both work fantastic, no troubles, great color, and they look slick.
  • Cons: None.
