Summary: I have had this monitor as a 2nd display for all my laptops/desktops for over 7 years and it's a workhorse. It survived many moves, adjustments, cables, adapters, plugins and plug-outs. I'm waiting for it to stop working so that I can get a new one, but it just won't quit. Mac and Win7 automatically adjust to resolution (1440x900) which is always nice. Highly recommended.
Summary: I have owned this monitor for over two years and have never had any problems with it. It is pretty much a plug and play. No dead pixels, no issues with not turning on. I sometimes play high graphics games and the monitor works just well with them. I am in the process of upgrading to a larger, newer monitor, so I will see what the difference will be. I purchased mine for $190, so $100 is a good deal.
Summary: We use dual monitors for office work so we purchased around 10 units of SyncMaster 941bw one or two years ago. Start from two weeks ago one of mine burned out. Last week another one went out. This morning the third one went out. Now we are looking at the rest of the monitors and considering the next one will be out at any time. Very poor quality for a monitor that only has less than two year of life.
Cons: My first monitor died after 2 years of use. It powered up but there was no picture. Samsung replaced it thanks to the 3 year warantee. Monitor number 2 died after one year... 5 days after the original warantee ended. Samsung would do nothing.
Summary: I bought this monitor in December of 2006. It was a great price, a perfect size, and Samsung offered a 3 year warantee. I was quite happy with the quality! In December of 2008 it died. The monitor would power on and off but no picture - black screen of death! I contacted Samsung and had a wonderful experience. They replaced the monitor at no charge. One year later that second monitor did the same thing. It would power on and off but no picture.
