Summary: i bought this monitor years ago. went out within the first 6 months. as many may know there was a rash of bad capacitors used in the manufacture of lots of different electronics and this monitor was one of them. It was purchased as refurbished so not sure if that was part of the issue or not. after lots of research i decided to repair it myself. once i opened it up the bad caps were obvious, they were busting out at the seams.
Summary: customizable, configurable, good graphics. I have spent time with this monitor has settings for each type of activity, the vision does not tire me, good response time in video games. Slim, lightweight, reclining.
Summary: I have had this monitor for over 2 years and its still in excellent condition. the screen is bright, no glare< and has amazing clarity. I know a lot about computers and i know that this is a very good monitor. i couldn't think of any cons.
Summary: I have 3 of them. Does that tell you how good these monitors are. I have a triple monitor setup using these monitors and I love them. The colors are bright and the details are crisp. The controls are easy to use and well laid out in the control menus. It took just a little tweaking to get the colors consistent across all three panels but once I got it there they look great. I've noticed no issues with refresh rate with gaming, probably because the refresh is so high.
Summary: I bought this monitor to use as an external monitor to my Macbook, which runs Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard). The resolution is supposed to be 1440x900, but with my macbook, even after calibrating and setting the resolution through system preferences, the resolution is horrible. It appears that the same picture on my 14-inch screen has just been stretched to 19 inches. Samsung does not, apparently, offer a driver for Mac, and there seems to be no recourse.
Summary: Far better than several other more expensive models I looked at. No 'ghosting' with fast moving frames. Brilliant color and clarity. I really am impressed with this. Hookup was easy. I would recommend this highly, especially at this price point.
Summary: I bought this monitor as an upgrade to a 15" Gateway LCD. I don't even think i can say "apples and oranges". The new samsung has beautiful brightness and is a good size widescreen for everyday use. At work i use a 21" Dell Trinitron and thought I'd never want to get rid of it. If they got me a samsung, I'd hand them over the "boat anchor" pretty fast. Not necessary for space, like at home. Back to the Samsung. It's beautiful. It's bright.
Summary: This is a squat monitor -- more appropriate as a dorm room TV/DVD player than a work station. The resolution is good and the colors crisp as could be -- but know what you're buying. It's no taller than a typical 17" and everything looks stretched, even after adjustments.
