Excellent monitor

Sidney F., Newegg
23 August 2009
  • Summary: Beautiful. large monitor with superb color and clarity. The size of this monitor makes working on my computer much more enjoyable than my old 19 in CRT. Personally, I really like the touch controls. Easy to use unless you are in a room with no light.
  • Pros: No dead pixels. Excellent clarity...plays games smoothly and with superb contrast. Very good view from different angles while sitting.
  • Cons: None so far.

An improvement from the 245bw

Eric W., Newegg
9 June 2009
  • Summary: There are probably other, cheaper, and (perhaps) better solutions out there if you want a 1920*1200 display with a HDMI port. That said, the monitor performs well on the lagom.nl tests and the backlight bleed is greatly diminished from the 245bw.
  • Pros: I upgraded from a Samsung 245bw that I bought a couple of years ago. My main reasons for upgrading were the terrible backlight bleed and lack of HDMI port on the 245bw. Fortunately the 2x93hm series takes care of these problems. There is still a small amount of bleeding around the edges but overa...
  • Cons: So far there's only two cons: the stand is very flimsy in comparison to the 245bw and the source switching is quite slow. DVI to HDMI switch takes about 6 seconds and from HDMI to analog takes about 3. The 245bw took 1-2 seconds from VGA to DVI. Also I don't care that much but the touch controls ...

Nice Monitor

Chris J., Newegg
23 April 2009
  • Summary: I think this is a great monitor. I have been buying Samsung monitors for a long time and they are typically of great quality. I had an LCD show up DOA a couple years back and their customer service was incredible. Highly recommend ...
  • Pros: Monitor is nice looking and picture quality is excellent. Used as a second monitor over the HDMI output from my Sony AW190YBB laptop and the monitor is sharp and has great color. The laptop has the Adobe RGB LCD and the monitor looks as good or better. Very sleek looking and is adjustable in heig...
  • Cons: Fingerprint / Dust magnet, BIG ( duh ) and the button-less controls on the front are a little tricky.

Five stars (for my 8 months of usage)

Eric G., Newegg
29 March 2009
  • Summary: I didn't vet this monitor for suitability to do color-intensive graphics work; if you're in the market for such a thing you have a much better idea of what you're looking for than I do.
  • Pros: 1. Big 2. Great display (once brightness is adjusted) for gaming, movies, and general use 3. Attractive design 4. Height/angle are easy to adjust 5. HDMI 6. The touch control is great for powering on/off the monitor
  • Cons: 1. No S-Video or analog video inputs 2. Annoyingly bright (this can be adjusted) 3. Either the speakers or the included audio cable lacks sufficient shielding to prevent interference; I haven't tested this with a good quality audio cable, because I don't really need the speakers, so I couldn't sa...

excellent monitor

Michael T., Newegg
4 March 2009
  • Summary: I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking to upgrade. Once you get it hooked up, I would turn the brightness because the factory settings are way to high, its like looking into a bright light for too long( you start to see stars)
  • Pros: It has a huge screen(I really didn't expect it to be this big), no dead pixels, great resolution. It looks great hooked up in HDMI.
  • Cons: The speakers do suck, that's the only complaint I've had and its not much of a complaint because I don't use the speakers.

Watch out for controls

Mr. G., Newegg
27 February 2009
  • Pros: Generally, I love this monitor. A bit of vertical falloff (darkening at the top of the screen), but I do CAD mostly and it is rarely noticeable, let alone a problem. No missing pixels.
  • Cons: The almost invisible touch-sensitive controls have been addressed in other reviews. I have mostly made my peace with them, except that occasionally my finger must brush the Source control before it gets to the Power control. This means that when I turn the monitor back on again, I get a floating ...

Love this monitor - getting a 2nd!

Neal D., Newegg
19 January 2009
  • Summary: There are no buttons, they are touch sensitive areas on the case. You just have to get use to where the power button is. I slide my finger left over the blue light to turn the monitor off. I never use the other buttons. Set your VOL to 60 and adj in your OS.
  • Pros: I bought this around 6 months ago and still love it! It has everything I wanted, an adjustable stand that swivels, speakers that are good enough to pre-listen to MP3's before loading to my iPhone, brightness that blows me away, a very clean look and buttons that aren't ugly!
  • Cons: The monitor is way too bright. I bought this because of complains the monitors with the rose accent was not bright enough. I have my brightness set to 5% so it doesn't burn my eyes at night.
