Summary: I have had this monitor for over 3 years now and it still looks as good as it did the first day I bought it. Great resolution and contrast. I actually used this to watch movies on through my computer when I was saving for a big screen. Love this monitor and recommend it to anyone needing a monitor.
Summary: I bought and used this Samsung 2494SW 24" Black LCD Monitor a little over a year ago from a local electronics store to go with my MacBook desktop set up. Overall I am very happy with the performance this monitor has given me. The 1080p resolution is sharp as ever coming from a regular outdated LCD monitor.
Summary: Picture quality is good. No complaints. However I hate the soft touch controls. First, the buttons' markings are very faint in a dim room. I can't see them at all on the black panel. I have to put a spotlight on them to see them! Second, the buttons have no nudges or edges of any kind. I absolutely have no idea I pushed any button unless I see the effect on the screen.

Summary: Overall, this is a good product that works well. That being said, be forewarned - you must use MagicTune to configure monitor settings (brightness, contrast, etc.). As of today, there is not a version of MagicTune for Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.x). This is a major problem given that the monitor is, by default, fairly bright. You can use Calibrate... under System Preferences->Displays to make some adjustments, but nothing comparable to a standard configuration menu.
Summary: I replaced an old Dell 19-inch CRT monitor with this 24-inch Samsung widescreen LCD and have no major complaints. The CRT actually had a clearer picture but the size of screen compared to the amount of space it takes up on my desk is a definite advantage for the LCD. The screen is matte as opposed to glossy so the picture probably would have been crisper with a glossy screen but the matte does well with the glares caused by the window my desk is set up next to.
Summary: I buy a few products here at Amazon mostly good transaction, but this time its bad , I ordered and pay for brand new monitor Samsung 24 inches and paid for brand new price , but I was given a Refurbished. There'a lady here named Kathy , who supposed to help buyers but closed my case , so nothing was done , now Iam using an expensive Refurbished monitor ( which i dont know how long it will last ). Maybe better to buy on e-Bay again , or to Amazon if Kathy is not there.
Summary: This is an upgrade from Dell20". I like Samsung display. This is my 2nd Samsung. 1920x1280 is excellent. It has many feature but I don't need them. This is good for video, photo and everyday use. Won't go back to anything small. Luckily I bought it for 190.00 in Dec 09. This make me feel even better.
Summary: I just replaced two 19" monitors in my configuration and am pleased with the view and sharpness of these monitors. If I could offer Samsung one word of advice It would be to add the telescoping necks. It can't cost that much and to be honest when I ordered these I thought they had them. (my bad) I use the SyncMaster 244T's at work and really enjoy them. Price is right, quality good, tricky on / off switches, the monitor have two of them.
