Summary: Old but still loved monitor with excellent picture clarity, great viewing angle (thanks to S-PVA matrix) and support for different input types. Gets 4 not 5 stars from me because this model is notorious for bad capacitors that tend to leak after 1-3 years of use. BTW it's an easy and cheap to get them replaced.
Summary: I have bought this baby about 3 days ago and I was facing a strange problem. On my Sony VAIO (VGN-S5HP/B) with Windows XP SP2, I was getting only a black screen. After a countless various attempts with various drivers (nVidia geForce go 6400) and others, I have decided to switch off all unnecessary services, which are being loaded during the system startup and guess what? It has started to work.
Summary: After living with this product for over 3 months I have no problem highly recommending it. This 21" widescreen display has a height adjustable stand, offers 1000:1 contrast ratio, rca and s-video inputs, as well as a headphone jack which can be surprisingly convenient. It also has built in speakers but they are quite weak and I highly recommend hooking up a regular set of computer speakers instead, or your 5.1 system if you are so equipped.
Summary: apparently sometimes the monitor blanks out for a second or 2 randomly when using the DVI connector. i called tech support, first they exchange the monitor, which didnt fix the problem. then they tried running thru tech support (i was surprised this wasnt first), and basically decided they dont know whats causing it, so they recommended i use the standard monitor connector instead of the DVI connector while they try and figure out the problem. i'm not holding my breath.
Summary: You need multiple monitor inputs for a PC and a video game console. I bought this monitor for my son's college dorm room and it's great. The monitor is connected to his Media Center laptop and an XBOX. Games look AWESOME in HD. Very capable multimedia monitor. He uses it as his primary PC display, his TV (through the Media Center PC), and to play games.
