Summary: Set up is easy, performance and value are good and appearance is nice. Set monitor control in Windows XP to 1600 x 900. Attaching the stand is tricky. I paid $140.00 plus tax at wholesale club. Lay the monitor face down on carpet against the wall to keep the piece steady. Take care not to scratch or force anything. The "arrow" side of the "ball" faces the front of the monitor, and the "straight line" side faces you/faces up.
Summary: I am a major Samsung fan. I currently have two Samsung TV's and one Samsung monitor. The colors are good, and the DVI input is a plus. Cons: The stand is very wobbly. As long as you don't touch the monitor, it should be okay. Even though the stand is very wobbly, I am still glad I decided to purchase this monitor.
Summary: Great visuals. Less than excellent audio. Prior to my purchase, I had read a review that stated the audio output on this TV was poor. I did not tell this to my wife, thinking she would not notice. Initially we thought the tv was fine, but later, under noisy conditions(tv is in kitchen) the audio issue came up and My wife asked me what we could do to increase the audio output. The TV is good, but the audio output could be better.
Summary: I bought this monitor to replace an old CRT monitor. It is way better than what it replaced. The screen is bright and clear with out flicker, smaller footprint, less power consumption and so on. As LCD monitors go this is a decent one and for that I gave it a good rating. What I don't like is the wide screen (16:9 format). (I have several 17 and 19" monitors in the 4:3 format). It is difficult to find screens over 17" that are not wide screen.
Summary: Probably closer to 4, but I'll need more time to evaluate. Concerning the mounting base. The little thumb tab on the screw on the base is a little frustrating, my camera tripod has same and for an old f**t w/ authoritis it can be a challenge. But I noticed all the negative remarks seem to be due to the assembly of the base.
Summary: Just purchased from a big box store for 10 bucks cheaper than Amazon. You really can't beat the value of this performance for the price. I've owned several Samsung monitors, and all have been excellent. Great picture quality, and longevity. As one reviewer noted, the method of attaching the base to the monitor is a little odd, but once you line up the pegs & holes, it snugs right up. It does all the things you expect a monitor to do.
