Summary: I needed two external monitors for my laptop (the ultrabook's screen is too small when working at my desk). I originally ordered a 24" Dell monitor, and it works, fine, but the correctness of the colors on the Planar is much better and more vibrant than the dell.
Pros: The matte screen is very nice, not dull. Good blacks. Colors are better than the Acer 24" I dropped a shelf on. I find the 1920x1080 still sharp on a 27". Factory settings looked great. No dead pixels. Snaps into stand easily and feels solid enough. Has a dim green power-on indicator and menu sys...
Cons: Not a fan of the glossy bezels. Minus 1/2 egg for style.
Pros: Great screen size and quality. Really good guarantee. Portland based company :) and no dead pixels. The screen can be adjusted to work well in office and photo applications (gamers seem to like billboard brightness that is sometimes too bright for non game use)
Cons: None. People comment on speakers, but monitor speakers are a compromise.
Summary: It's a good monitor at a good price, but I'd recommend going with a more trusted brand.
Pros: Very large, beautiful display, good colors, sturdy stand.
Cons: Built in speakers are worthless, but I expected that. The reason I am giving this monitor 1 egg is because it arrived with a dead pixel. Bright green dot right on my task bar is very noticeable. It would cost me $25 to ship it back for a replacement, with no guarantee that the new one would be fr...
Summary: Its a great monitor, just wish it came with 2 hdmi outputs and my 3.5mm out for my better speakers. When it comes down to 240 again I may buy another. Being skinny its easy to move. Highly recommended to buy.
Pros: Have had this monitor for 6 months and its been great, not one dead pixel. Nice picture and its 27". Skinnier then my last LCD monitors. Cost only 239.99 at the time. Its great for my XBOX 360 as the HDMI is fantastic excluding speakers of course. (see cons)
Cons: The speakers are mediocre, although just about any LCD monitor's speakers are mediocre. Viewing angle is nonexistant but I dont mind.
Summary: If you want a great monitor at a great price this one is awesome. I paid a bit over $200 and the picture is phenomenal. However, I took away one star for its poor speakers; only 2W and very hard to listen for music. You will not want to use the speakers.
Summary: Since it's just a few hours, I probably won't be able to judge very accurately how good or bad this monitor is. So fr I'm loving the extra space. I decided to get this model purely on the sale price.
Pros: Obviously the size.. heh heh.. But seriously after getting this monitor I've wondered why I've held out for so long. No dead pixel found, thank goodness. Surprisingly very thin. My now 2nd monitor is an ASUS 23" monitor and the Planar is much thinner than that. Has enough ports for me. I use DVI,...
Cons: Not really cons but some observations. I guess when compared with my ASUS monitor the blacks don't appear as clear. Though I'd probably never have noticed it if the two monitors weren't side by side. I played with color warmth of the Planar model and decided 6500k was better than 9300k. I think i...
Summary: A USA company but really hope in stands up to extended use. America made is no longer a sign of quality as it once was (and thats for sure).
Pros: Have no issue, picture quality is very good and I have no dead pixel's to report.
Cons: On first install the cables: power HDMI vga etc. where hard to insert as the monitor's body is very close to the edge of the connectors. The monitor's shell places a bit of pressure and force the cable into a sharper turn than I'm use to. After I finish install I went back and checked the connect...
