Summary: Bought 2 to replace my double monitors and they are great. Lightweight, small black frame around screen - no extra bulk. Easy to hook up and auto set up and I was ready to go. Good value for a good price.
Excellent for people with electromagnetic sensitivity
18 September 2011
Summary: I am suffering from a condition called electromagnetic sensitivity which I developed from overexposure to wireless technology (be careful wireless technology causes not only cancer but also this condition. 3% of the population are estimated to be sick). Once you get the condition you may become sensitive to every electromagnetic emitting device.
Terrific monitor, but better idea is a Roku or LCD TV
1 April 2010
Summary: This monitor is easy to set up and use, and their customer service is terrific. Only thing is, to watch computer streaming AND TV, it's more compact to use an LCD TV (I didn't know LCD TVs worked as monitors, too, then). It's more compact, too, if you use a Roku box with the TV you already have (I forgot a Roku or game system is all you need to show Netflix movies on your TV). I also had to get little speakers to boost the computer's sound to see movies on a monitor.
Summary: I have had this display for almost 2 1/2 years and had have great performance from day 1. I connect different desktops and latops to this display all of the time with no issues. This is not the cheapest display out there, but if you are interested in performance with very sharp resolution, this display fits the bill.
Summary: The price decided it for me... 19" vs higher quality 17" (refurb.), but the 19" was 5 bucks cheaper... The picture quality is not great... it has a darker "look" at the top and fades to a lighter color at the bottom... kinda like my dad's HP monitor. Bought a dell 1706(?) for my wife's dad and it had a great picture and better viewing angles. If you want a basic monitor, the planar is a great choice if you get it cheap.. $101 in this case..
Summary: I bought this for my wife when we got new computers, and I bought a Samsung 19" for myself. I wish I had gotten two of these instead. The Samsung is very nice, but it requires near-constant "fiddling" The PL1900 doesn't; it's very nice right out of the box, and required minimal setup. She hasn't had a single problem with it at all. The image is nice & crisp, and she hasn't had to touch the settings since setup.
